mitsho Mar 30, 2007, 05:16 AM sounds like a very good bug-fixing patch. When you added the Wang Kon graphic, did you also think of adding Brennus as for example a Viking leader (I know, red hair, but the Vikings are one of the only European civs without two leaders... and he better suits as Scandinavian than Spanish... ;)).
btw. Can you give me the reason the Ottomans have been changed to Turks, but the Vikings not to Scandinavians?

Edungeon Mar 30, 2007, 08:29 AM I love you Rhye! XD *in a straight way, of course >_<*
- Removed a lock for city trading to humans (will it work this time?)*
I hope this will work :goodjob:
- Removed a mountain in Norway which was blocking a passage*
I thought that this was on purpose :p
So Rhye, can you give us some news of BtS? =)
SadoMacho Mar 30, 2007, 10:44 AM Rhye, did you change anything in the const.py or the barbs.py?
I'll try to post the flavoured units modcomp. It isn't finished but I can't add any more units.
Jaguar Mar 30, 2007, 12:20 PM
I'm hoping the Americans tech bug is all fixed.
Phallus Mar 30, 2007, 01:51 PM Nice improvements, Rhye.
When you added the Wang Kon graphic, did you also think of adding Brennus as for example a Viking leader (I know, red hair, but the Vikings are one of the only European civs without two leaders etc.
Erm, why?
mitsho Mar 30, 2007, 02:26 PM because it's there and animated?
Bob III Mar 30, 2007, 02:37 PM But Brennus doesn't really match. And besides, the Celts are Brennus, so I might get confused.
Great job Rhye!
mitsho Mar 30, 2007, 02:45 PM But well, you cannot contact the Celts (or can you?). Well, anyways it was probably just bad brainstorming...
Edungeon Mar 30, 2007, 03:57 PM - Removed a lock for city trading to humans (will it work this time?)*
If this mean that you can trade city for gold... it is not working :(
fearuin Mar 31, 2007, 09:46 AM did you also think of adding Brennus as for example a Viking leader (I know, red hair, but the Vikings are one of the only European civs without two leaders... and he better suits as Scandinavian than Spanish... ;)).
Hmm... didn't noticed that Brennus was Spanish leader, haven't played Spanish (or a civ with early contact with them) since a lot of time ago. However, remind that early Spanish kings were direct hereditors of the Visigoth lineage, which came from some point in the north of Europe, probably north of Germany, Poland, or even Scandinavia. Many of them were red haired. It will make even more sense if Spanish spawned earlier, but now it's just OK.

Brennus is not a Spanish leader... =p
Whitefire Mar 31, 2007, 11:40 PM - Disabled automatic (non-scripted) creation of barbarian units*
Wow, I might try playing Vanilla now.

Brennus Spanish leader in the game?
fearuin Apr 01, 2007, 06:41 AM whoops... a mischief :mischief: . All's mitsho's fault ;) :

But he might be added, anyway, as "Don Pelayo", the first Spanish leader, who even wasn't a king, just a "great general", but very important in Spanish history (he put some order in resist the Muslim invasion, and on trying the Spanish not killing themselves in a useless civil war). And Spanish start with Despotism like everybody unless Egypt, no? So it fits :). I don't know what appearence he had, but as living in VIII century probably he was pretty much like Brennus.
Rhye Apr 01, 2007, 08:47 AM I added Ming Tai Zu because it isn't just a nice addition for the middle Chinese period - also because that leaderhead (Wang Kon) looks like him indeed

as you can see in both pictures: round face, mustaches and beard, dressed in yellow, with the funny hat. It's him!

Edungeon Apr 01, 2007, 08:52 AM wtf... he is ugly like the beast!
Is he with chickenpox?
Bob III Apr 01, 2007, 09:13 AM Yikes, that dude scares me. o.O
flyingchicken Apr 01, 2007, 01:43 PM The style of the hat is important.
I don't know a thing about the symbolism of the hats, but I think there's a significant symbolic difference between the beads and the broom-end like things.
A good example would be the Qin Shi Huang/Kublai Khan mixup. If you would notice, "old Qin Shi Huang" had a furry hat, not unlike those of the steppe peoples.
Point: Symbols are powerful.
Sovietof17 Apr 01, 2007, 04:16 PM In the previous version, I didnt get German UHV #2, despite the fact I basically control every square inch of europe and european russia.
Save game is too large. 943kb
fearuin Apr 02, 2007, 06:28 AM Use the Easy Upload button (the red one to the top right), and the Bug Reports thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=5274680#post5274680). But this bug is fixed on current version, isn't it?

There are specific tiles you must control in order to control the "territory". For most civs it's the area around the capital.
V. Soma Apr 10, 2007, 10:31 AM A question: at the unit command icons, what is this "selection mode"?
(icon: passing some papers from one hand to another)
I tried it and the unit disappeared...
mitsho Apr 10, 2007, 10:47 AM I do think you are referring to the mercenary icon. You gave this unit free for other civs to hire it. Gaining you income and possibly a more experienced (or dead) unit when you take it back (via the mercenary screen in the upper left corner, the little axe right next to what is there too ;)).

Thanks :)
I thought something like that - deal concerning that unit ;)
coko Apr 12, 2007, 09:14 AM Oh! I didn't know that was what it did, safe.
Are there any plans to add "ransom" of cities in? From the Norse mod, seem good fun, and kind of realistic, especially of the more barbarian styled civilizations...
