A slightly higher difficulty level, and we move to an archipelago map (strong navy NOT OPTIONAL! ;)).

This game MUST be played in patch version 1.61. We will NOT accept any games played under any other patch versions, and you can't play it in warlords!

Further, it MUST be played using HOF mod version 1.61.011. (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mods/HOF-1.61.011.exe)


For Mac users, the HOF mod version has also been updated. It requires that you use the Mac HOF mod, HOF-Mac-1.61.011. Please download that from the Mac Forum thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=214617)

Alexander:
Alexander is Aggressive and Philosophical; starting with Hunting and Fishing. Aggressive allows a free combat 1 promotion for melee & gunpowder units, and double production speed of barracks and drydocks. Philosophical provides a 100% bonus to the generation of great people, as well as double production speed of universities.

Unique unit: Phalanx:
The Phalanx replaces the standard spearman. The strength is increased by 1 to 5, and the cost remains the same. In addition to the 100% bonus against mounted units, the phalanx also gets a +25% bonus when defending hills.

Adventurer Class bonuses:

First time with with Forums and GOTM here. DL'ing at Contender now.

Question to the GOTM staff, how is the final score calculated, does it just use the in-game scoring or is there some sort of formula you use?

We use the standard Firaxian score. Nothing added ... nothing taken away.

Would it be possible in future GOTMs to provide a direct link to the HOF file needed to playthe game please? The web-site is a ut cinfusing with the latest diwbload link buried in the body of the text.

The HOF Mod team have asked us not to link directly to it in case it gets moved and breaks the links. If we use their page it's their responsibility to maintain the links.

I'm still waiting to start. I started WOTM7 with a hiss and roar and then spent the next few weeks waiting around. By the time the threads came up I had mostly forgotten what had happened. I've actually been playing some practice games this time, so watch out!*

well, seeing as how my WOTM7 finished so quickly, I went ahead anf played this one...I wrote out my spoilers already, so all I have to do is c/p them into the threads when they come out :)
