G'day mates,
I'm new at this. How do you convert a vanilla map to Warlords?
I would like to convert the vanilla South American map to Warlords.
Cheers!

So....
What actually makes a warlords map different from a vanilla one?

All maps can easily be ported between the addons and vanilla by renaming them to the propper filename:
Civ4: *.Civ4WorldBuilderSave
Warlords: *.CivWarlordsWBSave
BtS: *.CivBeyondSwordWBSave
But this counts only (!) for maps, scenarios can cause problems.
/edit: Frogot to say: To see the filetype you have to activate it in windows. I think it's named don't show filetypeextension of knowing filetypes in the english windows and you have to uncheck this in the folder-options.

Actually I made a map in BTS with the civs I wanted, and then saved it in the WB. I went into a Warlords map with notepad and copied the map's plot info and pasted it over the map plot info in the BTS map, leaving a BTS map with the civs and map I wanted. It crashed when loading the map.

Sugestion 1:
Ah, i got the same. I think the amount of data is too much to copy (at least i think this is, because the lines were fewer in the copied one than in the original) and therefor isn't 100% copied and then it crasches back to desktop. I hab the same with a map. I made a map without ressources and ingame i added per console command randomly the ressources and goodiehuts, saved it as wb-save. As i copied the plotinfo to the Ressource-clean-version there was everytime a ctd. Then i cpied the normal mapinfo of my clean version over the mapinfo (note: the MAPinfo, NOT the PLOTinfo! Mapinfo are the information about players and such) over the new map and saved it per override over the old and voila, it works.
I would recommend you just copy your map with CTRL + leftmousebutton and rename it to the wanted filetype.
Suggestion 2:
Is the shape of the map the same? are the continents and oceans the same on both maps? it could be that some of the civs start on oceantiles and that causes the ctd.
