In most first person shooter games, you just press the quickload button from the main menu and you get to the quicksave, can this be true from the main menu of civ?

Well, CTRL+F5 is quicksave, and CTRL+F8 is quickload... Don't know how much faster you want it... :rolleyes:

Um, IT DOESN'T WORK FROM THE MAIN MENU!!! Why does nobody ever get my point? I think I said it pretty clearly; I want to be able to press the quickload buttons in the main menu and have it work. Usually, when someone asks for something, it is a good indication that they don't already have it.

oh, people get it, we just think its daft and petty.

i found out a workaround. you create a shortcut to your quicksave on your desktop, start bar, etc etc

try it. i dont see why it wouldnt. you can do it with normal saves.

Oh, yes you can open it. I have seen games that say you can open a save from windows, and since civ4 doesn't say that, I assumed it didn't.
From now on, I only save on my flash drive, so I just go to My Computer\G: and open it. :thanx:

hooray! Ive thought about doing that same, because I play on my desktop and laptop at different periods.
