I loaded the new 'HOF-Mac-1.61.011' for the new GOTM, and in playing other maps, the map would not reveal! Even after going into the civ editor and manually revealing the map, it would not. I decided that there must be something wrong with the .011 version of the HOF, so I went back to the HOF-Mac-1.61.009. This did not solve the problem. Yes, I have a mac, this is the first bug I've experienced and the only time it began was immediatly after loading the new HOF MOD. Anyone ever heard of problems like this, or more importantly, how to fix?

Do you have civ 4 patch 1.61?

More importantly, do you have the latest video card?

Err, he has a mac so he has 1.61 by default. Macs have "rev A" and "rev B" patches, however I doubt that's relevant (but who knows?).

This does look suspiciously like the "no hardware T&L" issue, but since you indicate you can successfully play the game outside of the HOF mod, this is obviously not the issue.

It's possible the map is the problem. If the HOF mod has a built in map (as I presume it does) there's some possibility of corruption or incompatibility between WorldBuilderSave files; you might consider creating your own WBS file and substituting it, and seeing if the game works okay then.

I'd check in with the HOF mod people though for more direct answers, since I'm not familiar with that particular mod or what it does. Suffice to say that many mods don't function quite right on the mac platform though due to Aspyr's choices during the cross platform move (ie, no separate dll)...

---------------

edit: I may have misread your problem. Is it a problem playing the mod, or playing the game outside of the mod? If it's a problem outside of the mod, as a reread seems to indicate, I highly recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the game, as probably the mod changed something it shouldn't have and/or is being loaded when you don't intend it to.

Hi. I've only just seen this. It would have been better to post it in the Mac Civ4 forum, and I'm transferring it there.

The Hof Mod can't do what you are seeing. As suggested above, that looks like a problem with the video card. What Mac are you running Civ4 on, and what patches, if any, have you applied to Civ4?
