well here i go again, already posted this, but the forums fubarred and lost my message :sad: . i'll do a shorter form since i'm too lazy to retype it all. having a few problems with the game. i suck at playing with editors btw, but i somehow managed to create a new civ, sans heads, based on Camelot (but as a side note, it wouldn't show up as one of my choices in the civ selection screen until i deleted another civ??). now that was after my 30th try at playing with frustrating results ranging from crappy terrain restarts to having 3-5 civs declare war on me by 860 bc and clobbering me to shreds. after i created the new civ, the game was a bit easier for some odd reason. ain't that odd? *shrug*.
anyway, the problem happened when during game 31, i managed to get to 1812, and the game stopped and told me i had achieved a cultural victory. i'd read somewhere else b4 that i could still continue to play after that to the 2050 deadline. as i was technologically much more advanced as well than any other civ, and had gained much territory through culture turning with well strategically placed cities, i had just started a war with select civs in strategic locations in hopes of world dominance...i digress.
my problem was that after this "cultural victory" message, the game stopped due to an error and booted me out of the game??. all i can remember of this error message was something along the lines of.....something LKISS_something_something else etc. my uninformed guess is that despite managing to create my civ, there was possibly some dialogue, or probably a large string of dialogues that i would have needed to add somewhere specific, since the game obviously didn't default to anything in particular. so my overly complicated narrative concludes as this;

a)are there any mods out there that would add some heads, hopefully something medieval.
b)a mod that adds the dialogues necessary to avoid that error message
c)a way to add my civ, and make it choosable from the civ selection screen without deleting another.

any help would be great, and hopefully nothing complex. nice easy d-load, install and play stuff. not really lazy, but as a late bloomer to the civ 3 universe, it would take me 2 weeks to sift through all the posts since this game is older.

thnx for your help, and feel free to answer on my e-mail rather than a post here if you prefer. just make sure you id your post as civ3 as i've been getting a lot of junk mail lately.

This is because you don't have the victory screen for your civilization. Go and edit the victory screen file.

When you added your new leaderhead, you forgot to change the LKIS and other victory icons in the pediaicons.txt file.

ok forget i said anything about making a civ, as it was by accident. i appreciate the answers, but you forget something...i suck at these editors lol Nwoll, i never did figure out how to add a head to whatever i did in creating this accidental civ and as i mentioned, i had to erase another civ in order to use the new one. when i played with this new civ, the head was blank in the civ chosing screen(so in fact i did do something right, but not sure what or what to actually to fix the rest).

so i need details my friends as to what the heck i'm suposed to do??if i DO make(add in the editor screen) a new civ, do i Need to erase another of the pre-existing ones like i had to do b4? how do i make sure i have a head, how do i make sure the proper dialogues are in that pediaicons.txt file. probably missing a question or 2 that escape me atm, but will post if i remember them

thnx virote, that article was immensely helpful. got most of it done now, but there's a bit of info missing from the maker of the head mod i'm using and have sent him a message for help there. seems to be a few flics missing(at least according to the article) when it comes to adding data in the editor regarding eras. but hopefully the author will get back to me with a solution. i'm so bad at these things, i wish they sold seperate copies of games WITHOUT the editors lol would save me a headache and a few bucks hehe

take care and thnx again

If it isn't era specific, then just copy the path for all eras.
