An AFRVN Trojan above the Vietnamese jungle.

This is a complete remake of my first "unit" (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=130742) ever. Wyrmshadow was kind enough to give me a completely assembled and textured model - all I had to do was animate it! :D

Get it here. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/./downloads.php?do=file&id=4579)

A napalm bomb.flc can be found here. (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=5403550&postcount=19)

Here is a fix for the bombing anim glitch (ghost image of aircraft). (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=5466254&postcount=380)

Enjoy! :)

Great model, nice clean animations.:goodjob: The propeller, especially, shows up very well. Is there supposed to be an attack for this, or is it just a bomber?

Since it was used as a counter-insurgency aircraft I didn't make an Attack animation. I debated this but then decided not to, since I don't want to use the Trojan as an interceptor/fighter.

The propeller is straight out of Wyrmshadow's toolbox.

I thought it didn't look the same as mine. You used different camera angles and zoom settings, didn't you?

Did I? I worked off of the template you gave me a while ago. The camera angles are definitely the same and the zoom, I'm pretty sure I did it the same way I've been doing it for all my units...

Edit: Just checked it. Zoom is the same as for the F-16A Netz.

Only the splash has a different camera angle.

Nope, I checked the storyboards versus what I have. Your's is a lot bigger. My zoom is at 80.88%.
And you can give it an attack. Just add gun flashes to the 2 gunpods on the inner wing hardpoints.

Regarding scale: All my post-WWII units are scaled at 1:200, which means 1 pixel is equivalent to 200 mm. When comparing your sizing system (aircraftsize.xls) to mine, this scale gives you about the same length and wingspan as you get.
The only thing that I did different this time was, that I set the frame size to 200x200. Prior to this, I always used 150x150.

Clean looking plane. What can I say, I love it. Good detail too.

Close air support. A movie that fairly accurately portrays this plane I believe is "The Green Berets". I would like to say that "yes, that is this plane in that movie." however, I haven't seen that film in a very long time. Very cool though.

A napalm strike would be awesome, but I don't even want to imagine how hard that would be to make.

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!

My turn (same movie):
"Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P."---Adrian Cronauer, Good Morning Vietnam
Gotta love acronyms :crazyeye: .

I'm not promising anything, but you just gave me an idea for the custom bomb.flc. Wondering what my rendering times would be...

having that single flc TG would be real useful imo :)

I am a treasure trove of worthless and generally useless ideas. Whenever you desire access, you have only to ask. :goodjob:
