Immortal May 04, 2002, 12:01 PM goodness me Mr.Cyc, tell me, is that painting an original? or a print? And who is it by
:D
Civanator May 04, 2002, 02:36 PM Thank you very much Mr. Cyc.
Justus II May 08, 2002, 12:57 AM I would like some input from the science department on my proposal in the Domestic thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=276091#post276091) about building harbors to connect the new Egyptian lands.
Curufinwe May 08, 2002, 08:17 AM How soon do you expect our great library to become obsolete? what are your plans after that?
Cyc May 08, 2002, 01:56 PM As opposed to wasting all our flasks (10%?) on research that we are going to obtain through the Great Library, I vote that we reseach the Printing Press.
Civanator May 09, 2002, 01:09 PM first we are at least goind to get Gunpowder, if that Invention. Then we will go for economics and navigation. and if we can fit Democracy in there.

I am in full support of that plan as well.
Strider May 12, 2002, 02:06 PM Sorry about my inactivaty(Think I spelt that right) but I didn't really plan to have an injury any time soon.

Chieftess May 13, 2002, 09:58 PM The Trade Department is willing to help the Science Department by acquiring knowledge of an invention called the Printing Press from the Iroquois. In exchange, the Iroquois will give us 3GPT, and 56 gold up front.
Also allow us to make a suggestion:
We can also obtain gunpowder in 1 turn, by adjusting the science rate to 70%, for a net loss of 24 gold. I talked to my traders, and they say that other nations are only willing to give us gunpowder for a world map, and 100 or more gold. If we are in desperate need of this technology, we could chose this route.

Foreign Affairs can get gunpowder in trade for a Right of Passage agreement, saving that 70% of our income.
Nice work on Printing Press :)
disorganizer May 14, 2002, 08:43 AM could the department heads please open a new post in the "chat-voicing-list (term2)":
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20797
is should contain the following:
department-name
chat represenatatives in order of priority
for example this could be:
joke-department
1.) leader-name
2.) deputy-name
3.) chat-rep name
this will be the only source for voice-rights, so please update it!
otherwise your reps wont get voice in the chat.
Civanator May 14, 2002, 02:03 PM I humbly request that the Foriegn Ministry get this Gunpowder through a ROP to save Phoenatica the 24 gold coins.
chiefpaco May 14, 2002, 02:28 PM We have learned Education in the most recent chat.

Happy to oblige. :)
Civanator May 14, 2002, 06:42 PM Current Science:
donsig May 16, 2002, 04:01 PM Civanator, what advice do you propose regarding the buying of technologies from other countries and the selling of our technologies to other countries?
Are there any techs we should target for purchse and if so how would we pay for them?
Are there any techs we should or shouldn't try to sell off?
Civanator May 16, 2002, 06:06 PM My plan is to grab an opportunity when it pops up. Like if we can buy banking than we should go for it unless the cost is outragous.
Or selling techs right now is not something i would do unless it goes for strategic things like alot of money or Maps and maybe even workers.
Shaitan May 17, 2002, 04:56 AM We can probably get Banking for free. Babylon has it now and they are so far below us on the power scale that extorsion should not be a problem. Most of the other civs don't have it yet so we could most likely extort the Babs and then sell Banking to most of the others. Foreign Affairs supports a heavy campaign of extorsion against Babylon (our citizens are not too fond of the Babs).
Shaitan May 17, 2002, 08:19 AM The plan to extort Banking from Babylon has received a good response and will likely be carried through. Please plan a contingency for getting Banking on turn 0 (if the extorsion works).
The Foreign Affairs Department strongly encourages selling this tech to the civs that don't have it yet if we get it on turn 0 or if any still don't have it on turn 1 (when we research it ourselves).
Civanator May 17, 2002, 01:16 PM Please do go ahead and extort Banking from the babylonians and if they ever have a tech we don't, go ahead and take it from them.
Also I am in support of selling it once we get it, and demand a high price untill they won't accept it.
donsig May 17, 2002, 02:00 PM Extorsion? That is bad.:spank:
Let's just ask them nicely if we can have it!:D
Strider May 17, 2002, 05:42 PM Well.... I'm away for acouple of days and theirs alot going on(just my luck), but you guys seem to have everything worked out anyway so I'll stick to being quite :) ;)
Civanator May 18, 2002, 09:10 AM make sure you vote in the polls and don't be quiet. especially with everything in the citizen forum. here is the budget disussion (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22740)
Shaitan May 21, 2002, 11:29 AM Civanator, please vote in the Council Poll (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=291952#post291952) on whether to accept GreyFox's resignation. You are the deciding vote.
donsig May 23, 2002, 06:45 PM Civanator, there is talk of possibly building Copernicus's Observatory in Fox Nest. The NSD has 100 gold saved in its accounts. Is there any chance we can purchase astronomy from another country?
Civanator May 23, 2002, 07:11 PM yes there is. I'll go ask for atleast 100 more gold if not 50
Strider May 24, 2002, 02:12 PM Civanator.... Good Luck in getting Science Leader again! :)
Zur May 25, 2002, 11:07 AM We can also purchase Astro from Iroquois for Incense & dyes. Here are some possible trades with them:
Democracy <->Dye+Incense+177g
World Map + (Astro or Chemistry) <-> incense & dyes
Is it possible for FA extort some of these from some of the more suspect nations? It seems doable because we're in a strong position.
"Compared to these guys, we have a stong military!"
Curufinwe May 25, 2002, 11:51 AM Astronomy and Chemistry would be a lot better for us. We really don't need democracy seeing as war could very easily come soon and astronomy is needed for the Copernicus's observatory. Chemistry will also open up the path to metallurgy and military tradition for increased weapons, or physics and theory of gravity for Newton's university. I believe that we should start pre-building for the university very quickly because it would be most helpful, in the Copernicus's place would be hoped for, we should try to get another leader.
Curufinwe May 25, 2002, 11:51 AM But Civanator, you decide.
Shaitan May 25, 2002, 06:14 PM FA doesn't currently have a favorable bargaining position. We've had several unsuccessful extorsions against the Babs so we have to leave them alone for a while. China has nothing. The other nations are ranked above extorsion level. In 4 turns we will be renegotiating peace treaties and would be happy to include techs in the deal. That could save a luxury.
Curufinwe May 26, 2002, 10:19 PM I've a plan. seeing as we lost Copernicus's Observatory (I'm very mad) we should start pre-building for Newton's in PDX. Seeing as it is a scientific wonder you're assistance would be desired. What do you think of my plan Civanator?
Curufinwe May 26, 2002, 10:25 PM Also, we are researching Physics and we're in need of new techs to research. I propose Theory of Gravity next, metallurgy, military tradition, and then Magnetism.
Cyc May 27, 2002, 03:11 AM Hey Civ. Here's the latest update.

chiefpaco May 28, 2002, 01:14 PM Nice work, cyc. Civanator, can we schedule Free Artistry in the mix? There is a chance we may want to build Shakespeare's Theatre. Or, would you prefer trying to trade for it? Please refer to this thread. Obviously, science and wonder building need to have some level of co-ordination.
Citizen discussion: Wonder building! (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23425)
BTW, there is a trade proposed to bring the knowledge of Democracy to our NSD. How do you feel about that?
Citizen Poll: Proposed trade deals and can we do them before the turn chat? (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23480)
Civanator May 28, 2002, 06:39 PM i'm sorry i didn't respond for a while i had a memorial day party and was setin up all weekend. Yes we should start pre-building newton's Uni in PDX
Cyc May 28, 2002, 07:31 PM BTW, I am for both of the techs chiefpaco mentioned.
donsig May 29, 2002, 10:48 AM I have made the two trades and we once again have Indian silk imports. We also gained democracy from the Aztecs.
We are researching physics and will have it in 7 turns since I am upping the research rate. We need Theory of Gravity next and Free Artistry after that in order to implement our wonder building program.
Would the NSD please implement this research order?
chiefpaco May 29, 2002, 09:42 PM I am searching for your comment, Civanator, on this matter of your queue not followed:
Public Investigation Thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=304034&t=1603#post304034)
It requires your approval/disapproval, whichever you see fit.
Civanator May 31, 2002, 02:13 PM goodbye to all cause i am not the science leader any more. :( :( :( :( :(
