The IAR-93B Vultur is a subsonic, close support/ground attack aircraft for the Romanian Air Force. It was developed as a joint Yugoslav-Romanian project in the 1970s for the air forces of both nations.
Credits for the textures and the base model go to Fire Fox.

Red Door Apr 15, 2007, 12:04 AM I love your planes, absolutely stunning!
Mirc Apr 15, 2007, 09:32 AM I've seen the title of the unit in the Announce your files thread and I remarked the word "Vultur", which attracted my attention. ;)
Very very nice! But do we really have such planes??
TopGun Apr 15, 2007, 07:28 PM Yes, look here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IAR-93) :)
BTW, thanks for the accolades...
Ares de Borg Apr 15, 2007, 08:44 PM Alright, here it is: My new 1970s era generic ground attack aircraft for all those civs lacking their own model. Thanks!
NavyDawg Apr 16, 2007, 01:27 AM Cool model, nice animations. Overall great execution. Thanks also for including the bomb drop. It's nice and simple, with a good explosion. Modern fighters don't do the carpet bomb thing that the original game units have.
One question. Did you mislabel the fidget and run flics? They look like they should be switched, but maybe it's just me...

Not that I know... hmm. Fidget and Default are supposed to be the same (aircraft slightly bobs up and down); the Run flc has the aircraft rotate around the length axis (tipping the wings).
Glad you like the bomb flc, it took me quite a few trials to get it to be the way it came out.
Heretic_Cata Apr 16, 2007, 01:12 PM Very nice. :bounce:
If anyone is wondering, vultur=eagle .
Mirc Apr 16, 2007, 01:22 PM If anyone is wondering, vultur=eagle .
And if I might add, the same in Latin. Vultur (eagle) Vulturis (eagles) became in Romanian: Vultur (eagle) Vulturi (eagles). :)
Goldflash Apr 17, 2007, 12:13 AM Vultur = Eagle, huh? Then whats the Romanian word for Vulture?
Excellent unit, by the way, TopGun. You have a way of finding planes that even my multiple books don't list.
Heretic_Cata Apr 17, 2007, 12:39 AM Vultur = Eagle, huh? Then whats the Romanian word for Vulture?
 I didn't think about that.
Ok then, let's try this again.
Vultur = Vulture
:goodjob:
The thing is i know 4 vulture kinds of birds (vulture, hawk, eagle, aquila) in english and only 2 vulture kinds of birds in romanian(vultur, acvila), so i thought either hawk or eagle is a synonim of vulture.
