Nikis-Knight Apr 18, 2007, 03:45 PM Rules
-Questions can be about game mechanics ("What civs can build monuments?"), Backstory ("What leaders are angels?") or not too obscure forum details ("What unit is Kael's avatar from?")
-First person to answer correctly should ask the next question
-Don't reply to the next question after you ask one.
-If no one guesses for a day or two, give the answer and ask another (easier) one.
-Team members should probably stay away from really easy ones. ;)
Okay to start: Which characters (leaders, heroes, or great people) have an immediate family member as another character (leaders, heroes, or great people)?
(Apologies Kael if you want this in the forum games forum, but it is really specific to us. Your call if you want it moved.)
kenken244 Apr 18, 2007, 03:48 PM isnt it alexis and flauros?
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 03:58 PM Great idea for a game, yeap kenken Alexis and Flauros are brother and sister. There are a few direct family relations, including a father and daughter and an adopted mother of both a son and daughter.
The only hero link I can think of is there is one hero whose mother is a great person.
Sounds like you need to come with the next question kenken.
kenken244 Apr 18, 2007, 04:00 PM hmm... well the least- known one i can think of is what bonuses do pirate coves give to ships in them?
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 04:10 PM Shouldn't the questions be limited to those with only one right answer?
The original question could also be answered Einion Logos and Ethne the White (father and daughter), Os Gaballa and either Flauros and Alexis (adopted mother and children), Varn Gossam and one of the great prophets (husband and wife), and probably a few more. Can you consider a vampire as being related to whoever made him/her into a vamp (that would connect Losha Valas related to both the Calabim leader as "blood relatives")?

Probably. Your right about Varn and one of the prophets, I had forgot about that. But Ethne isn't releated to Einion.
eerr Apr 18, 2007, 04:42 PM Edit:a bonus to defense and healing while in the tile, they also allow ships to travel on a tile previously land in the first place
ahh- which promotions allow a unit to travel in burning sands without putting out or sanctifying the fire?
kenken244 Apr 18, 2007, 04:43 PM HELLO? i was asking a question so you have to answer it correctly to ask another one
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 05:06 PM Edit:a bonus to defense and healing while in the tile, they also allow ships to travel on a tile previously land in the first place
ahh- which promotions allow a unit to travel in burning sands without putting out or sanctifying the fire?
Let's see... resist fire, magic resistance, demon, immune to fire, magic immune, angel. I think that's it.
Also pirate coves give + 1 visibility range.
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 05:16 PM I think that whoever asks a question should have to say whether it has been satisfactorily answered before the answerer becomes the asker. That means we are still on the first question.
Nikis-Knight Apr 18, 2007, 05:23 PM I think that whoever asks a question should have to say whether it has been satisfactorily answered before the answerer becomes the asker. That means we are still on the first question.Well, that would slow the game down a bit. I'm fine with people asking after answering if they are pretty sure.
Kenken got 2 of the 7 I was thinking of. Alexis, Flauros, and their mom Os-Gabella. Keelyn and her daddy Perpentach. Varn Gosam and his wife, the bearded Talia.
hero link I can think of is there is one hero whose mother is a great person.I didn't know this, but I would guess Mardero's poor mom is a prophet?
for clarity's sake, if you want the guesser to guess all possible answers, so specify. Gamestations turn, I think.
Chandrasekhar Apr 18, 2007, 05:39 PM I didn't know this, but I would guess Mardero's poor mom is a prophet?
Yup, Lita the Witch if I remember correctly.
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 05:42 PM All right. This should be a simple question: What gender are the Doviello scouts? (at least I'm not asking what Mahala is )
kenken244 Apr 18, 2007, 06:11 PM my question wasent completely answered
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 06:14 PM Don't they give ship the pirates' cove promotion, making them heal faster?
kenken244 Apr 18, 2007, 06:15 PM yes well i meant the full effects it gives
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 06:46 PM yes well i meant the full effects it gives
Increases their heal rate, defense, sight range and allows the unit to switch their crew assignments.
To gamestations they are chicks! (and I can personally validate that mahala is also female).
My question (and its not easy so even team members can play):
Danalin is dreaming, having nightmares. Who is he dreaming about?
Maniac Apr 18, 2007, 06:53 PM His underwater people that died.
kenken244 Apr 18, 2007, 06:55 PM kael got mine right
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 07:07 PM His underwater people that died.
Nope, but thats a good guess.
eerr Apr 18, 2007, 07:10 PM Let's see... resist fire, magic resistance, demon, immune to fire, magic immune, angel. I think that's it.
Also pirate coves give + 1 visibility range.
you missed one promotion : P(at least one)
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 07:24 PM The Octopus Overlords.
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 07:34 PM The Octopus Overlords.
Nope, its a specific person.
Maniac Apr 18, 2007, 07:40 PM Hastur. Or that unnamed water hero.
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 07:41 PM you missed one promotion : P(at least one)
Aw you're right, I forgot orcish.
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 07:46 PM Hastur. Or that unnamed water hero.
No, and no (that unnamed water hero is Trenton Majosi I saw him when I was looking through great people lists).
In all fairness this is a very hard question, there isnt any indication of this in anything we've released but once you figure out who it is it makes sense.
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 07:58 PM Hemah?
Is it really fair to ask us about something that you made up and haven't told anyone yet?
(Also, the question was grammatically incorrect. "Who" can only be the subject of a sentence. "Who was he dreaming about" would be asking who the he who is dreaming is, plus it wouldn't make sense.)
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 08:02 PM Hemah?
Yeap, you got it!
Is it really fair to ask us about something that you made up and haven't told anyone yet?
Probably no. :mischief:
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 08:30 PM Ok then.
What is the FfH mythology's explanation for the Aurora Borealis?
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 08:35 PM Ok then.
What is the FfH mythology's explanation for the Aurora Borealis?
Oh, very obscure. I love it, great question.
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 08:39 PM Ok then.
What is the FfH mythology's explanation for the Aurora Borealis?
Lugus starting a bonfire for no apparent reason? This is a hard question!
.SinClaire. Apr 18, 2007, 08:54 PM the blood spilled during the war of the angels? Forever embedded in the night sky?
cvlowe Apr 18, 2007, 09:16 PM Okay to start: Which characters (leaders, heroes, or great people) have an immediate family member as another character (leaders, heroes, or great people)?
Nobody mentioned Perpentach and his daughter, Keelyn.
katika Apr 18, 2007, 10:25 PM Ok then.
What is the FfH mythology's explanation for the Aurora Borealis?
Magic.
(Why not?)
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 10:37 PM No guess so far has even come close. This piece of mythology is not found in the civilopedia, but Kael clearly stated in in one thread.
Hint: You may stumble across this story if you keep looking for information about Danalin's dreams.
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 10:50 PM Aurora Borealis is the tears of Danalin!
.SinClaire. Apr 18, 2007, 10:52 PM At that Danalin wept, his tears becoming silver drops that follow the moon through the night sky. Then he fell asleep, no longer caring about the state of creation.
:crazyeye:
Kael Apr 18, 2007, 10:57 PM Aurora Borealis is the tears of Danalin!
Nope, thats not it.
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 10:58 PM Wrong! But nice try.
I thought that hint might through people off as much as it helped (or more). The correct answer has nothing to do with Danalin, but the is in the same post as an explanation of why his dreams are nightmares. The answer is still up for grabs.
.SinClaire. Apr 18, 2007, 10:59 PM o.O
eek...
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 11:02 PM Aw, time to get searching again.
EDIT:
The strange colors in the northern sky are said to be the reflection of Brigits light.
Well that didn't take long!:woohoo:
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 11:12 PM Correct.
Brigit the Shining was Bhalls archangel, she remained holy and lead an small group against Bhall when she fell. Her army was quickly defeated but Bhall couldn't bring herself to kill her most beautiful creation. Instead she trapped Brigit within the northern wastes, far from where any creature of fire could reach her. The strange colors in the northern sky are said to be the reflection of Brigits light. Some say Bhalls mercy towards Brigit is evidence that some good part of her remains to be redeemed
How long do you think it would have taken without the hints telling you almost exactly what post to lookup?
Gamestation Apr 18, 2007, 11:15 PM The whole day that your question would be allowed to remain. :)
Now for the next question: What Welsh legend is Brigit's story similar to?
Good luck...
EDIT: Actually scratch that out. Probably open to too much interpretation.
Where does the ring of fire description come from?
I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher,
And it burns, burn, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire.
.SinClaire. Apr 18, 2007, 11:35 PM pshaw! oh nvrmind!
MagisterCultuum Apr 18, 2007, 11:51 PM From the eponymous Johnny Cash song, of course.
How about this: Which angel has blue and yellow plumage (in the form he assumed in the only civilopedia entry to mention him)?
vorshlumpf Apr 19, 2007, 01:17 AM Nevermind this. Too tired to post properly.
Gamestation Apr 19, 2007, 09:35 AM I'm actually not too sure that you were even supposed to answer my question before, MagisterCultuum.
-Don't reply to the next question after you ask one.
Otherwise I would be giving an answer right now to your question even though I just asked a question.
MagisterCultuum Apr 19, 2007, 10:23 AM Oops, Sorry.:mischief:
(You need a comma right before my name. I spent a couple minutes wondering who answered your question before I did and why they shouldn't have.;) )
Still, if it had taken you as long as you say it would have without my hints then I would be asking the next question anyway.
TheJopa Apr 19, 2007, 02:46 PM Well, in all fairnes I suggest that either Magister or Gamestation asks again (Whoever logs in first wins)
MagisterCultuum Apr 19, 2007, 04:42 PM Asks what? (does that count? Does this post mean I win?)
I already posed a second question, which no one has answered yet (although Gamestation claims to already know the answer). Since I answered the question right after mine I don't mind if he does too.
Gamestation Apr 19, 2007, 05:44 PM I said I would be answering right now, not that I know the right answer right now. I'd probably end up barraging you with answers until the right one somehow pops up.
MagisterCultuum Apr 19, 2007, 10:28 PM ok. Try as often as you like.
Do you need another hint?
He (or she, I actually don't know about the gender) is in the civilopedia, but is only identified as an angelic being in the forum.
Gamestation Apr 19, 2007, 10:40 PM No one has taken a guess yet?
All right, here's what I found: Splendor, the blue and yellow feathered parrot from Ethne's civilopedia entry.
MagisterCultuum Apr 19, 2007, 11:11 PM Correct. Now we can start to following the rules about not answering the questions immediately after ours. It probably helped that Splendor was identified as an archangel (more specifically, as the only archangel to appear in the civilopedia other than those that are main characters) in the same post as the story about Brigit.
Gamestation Apr 20, 2007, 10:01 AM Correct. Now we can start to following the rules about not answering the questions immediately after ours. Actually I figured out that it was Splendor because there is only one instance where "blue and yellow" appeared in the gametext xml, but your clue did confirm what I thought.
What gems are mortal men rumored to possess in the Age of Rebirth?
MagisterCultuum Apr 20, 2007, 10:20 AM Oh. Perhaps I should have used synonyms for these colors, or at least put them out of order. Excel's makes answering civilopedia questions much easier, just type ctrl+F. I actually used it to come up with the question (I searched for Splendor to find out what the civilopedia said about him). The you question is an easy one, but since we are following te rules now I won't respond.
eerr Apr 20, 2007, 01:07 PM Actually I figured out that it was Splendor because there is only one instance where "blue and yellow" appeared in the gametext xml, but your clue did confirm what I thought.
What gems are mortal men rumored to possess in the Age of Rebirth?
gems of the elements?
Nikis-Knight Apr 20, 2007, 01:32 PM I'm gonna give it a shot from memory: death, fire, & water?
vorshlumpf Apr 20, 2007, 01:40 PM Close.
But the power of death magic returned to the world when the brothers stole the gems of air, water and death and took them back into creation.
- Niilo
Nikis-Knight Apr 20, 2007, 02:04 PM alrighty then, your turn. :)
vorshlumpf Apr 20, 2007, 02:54 PM I'd like to pick something from the game, but I'm at work. I guess that means I need to bring in my install disk to correct that horrible problem ;)
The only question that comes to mind at the moment should be easy, particularly for anyone who's been around for a long time.
What post on this forum does Kael like more than any other?
- Niilo
MagisterCultuum Apr 20, 2007, 02:55 PM I'll assume Kael is not allowed to answer this one, but what if he has recently change his mind?
Nikis-Knight Apr 20, 2007, 03:18 PM Well, that should be easy--all we need to do is re-read all of Kael's posts. how long could that take? :D
edit: I know, and I'm pretty sure I know off-hand which post you mean to.
vorshlumpf Apr 20, 2007, 03:52 PM I'll assume Kael is not allowed to answer this one, but what if he has recently change his mind?
Hint #2: Then he needs to edit a very prominent post.
I don't mind if Kael answers. How easily he answers will verify the validity of his statement that is the subject of this trivia question. Er, that last sentence kinda tumbled out like a pile of rocks...
Well, that should be easy--all we need to do is re-read all of Kael's posts. how long could that take?
Hint #2b: I'm sure this would get you the answer, but I've seen the statement in a very prominent post.
- Niilo
Mahatmajon Apr 20, 2007, 03:59 PM Oooh ooh ooh - I know this one!
It's a post by Soren Johnson saying very impressive Mod, Kael...
found it: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3596926&postcount=1728
I'm question-less, but give me a second
vorshlumpf Apr 20, 2007, 04:15 PM Yup, you got it. The 'prominent' post is question is the intro post for Fall from Heaven (I, not II).
- Niilo
Mahatmajon Apr 20, 2007, 04:28 PM Meh - I can't think of a question and it isn't helping that I haven't played FFH in over a month. I'm going to punt and open it up to the floor.
QUESTION - What is the Strength & special ability of a Giant Spider?
3+1Poison, Hidden Animal, Can poison
MagisterCultuum Apr 20, 2007, 05:31 PM I go out on a limb and say that the answer is "3+1Poison, Hidden Animal, Can poison" (actually, the "can poison" is only part of having poison strength. I believe that spiders can also see other hidden animals)
Ok. When and where did the a Black Sea first appear, and what are its waters rumored to do?
eerr Apr 20, 2007, 08:20 PM idk?
but spiders can now make baby spiders if they defeat a living unit...
MagisterCultuum Apr 20, 2007, 10:16 PM True. I just assumed he was looking for the answer he gave us.
eerr Apr 21, 2007, 11:39 AM I go out on a limb and say that the answer is "3+1Poison, Hidden Animal, Can poison" (actually, the "can poison" is only part of having poison strength. I believe that spiders can also see other hidden animals)
Ok. When and where did the a Black Sea first appear, and what are its waters rumored to do?
when uh, agares fell, and uh, condemn the souls of the dammed?
MagisterCultuum Apr 21, 2007, 11:46 AM Guess again. Also, your first guess didn't include where.
Gamestation Apr 21, 2007, 12:24 PM Answer to MagisterCultuum's question:
When: Age of Magic
Where: by the shores of the plain of Naraka
Rumor: washes away the memories, dreams and wishes of specters, leaving behind a wraith
MagisterCultuum Apr 21, 2007, 01:14 PM Correct. (pretty much. I think it only washes memories away from those who are already spectors. )
During the Age of Dragons, the gods battled across creation. They fought over land and souls, until Dagda enforced the Compact. The Compact established rules for the relations between the angels, including providence over the souls of the living. When a person dies, regardless of race, his soul is brought to the vault of the deity he served in life, knowingly or not.[PARAGRAPH:1]But some people are bound too closely to their earthly life, and when they die they cannot leave this past life behind, lingering in echoes of memories. The loss of this precious life, the frustration of dreams that will never come to be darkens the heart of the spirit. These desires drag the soul into the Infernal Plains. The soul arrives in Hell, where nightmarish shades whisper to the soul, making him relive his darkest memories over and over. After some time, centuries in some cases, the mind and will of many fallen spirits are broken this way, some of these spirits vanish, while others are devoured by the whispering fiends and other animal-shaped Hungry Ghosts, spirits whose reason vanished and who exist only to satisfy their most primal desires. Some spirits survive the mind-shattering whispers and change: they become Specters.[PARAGRAPH:1]Specters are fallen spirits who recovered clear reason. Their appearance and personality are similar to what they had in life, and these will never change; the falling process galvanizes their soul to this shape. These specters group themselves in hopeless communities to defend themselves from a highly hostile environment, but they keep the dreams and wishes they had in life, dreams and wishes whose realization is almost impossible in that hellish place. Dreams and wishes that don't go away, memories of the lost ones, that will to not disappear, nothing fades from the unchanging soul of the Specter.[PARAGRAPH:1]During the Age of Magic, a Black Sea appeared by the shores of the razor-glass plain of Naraka. The sky in Hell is starless, but the waveless surface of the Black Sea reflected stars, stars that are not from Creation. Rumor spread that its waters were capable of making specters lose their memories, dreams and wishes, of making one's self disappear. Many specters, bored with their grey afterlife, pilgrimaged to the Black Sea, washing away their heart. But the dark waters don't wash away everything; a husk stays behind, a husk that is animated by ominous will. These beings are called Wraiths, a creature so unnatural that they are hated even by the fiends. After they are born on the shores of the Black Sea they float to a sinister tower in the middle of that sea, a windowless tower of infinite height, and no man knows what exists inside.

This one I actually remembered reading one time. Anyway, time for my question.
This may be a little tough because not even I can find the picture, but I think someone should be able to guess correctly: Which mana sphere lies in the direct center of all the others?
MagisterCultuum Apr 21, 2007, 07:58 PM This is a very easy one. Too bad I can't answer.
Chandrasekhar Apr 21, 2007, 08:16 PM @ Gamestation:
Metamagic. Let me think up a question.
Chandrasekhar Apr 21, 2007, 08:21 PM Okay, assuming I'm correct in my answer, here's my question:
Which is the only technology to have a soundbyte upon discovery in FfH? (alright, it's sort of easy too, but I can't think of a better one at the moment)
MagisterCultuum Apr 21, 2007, 08:36 PM Malevolent Designs (from Monty Python)
Ok,
How many names do the angels have to refer to The One, and where can you find them all written?
vorshlumpf Apr 22, 2007, 12:02 AM Malevolent Designs (from Monty Python)
Ok,
How many names do the angels have to refer to The One, and where can you find them all written?
I actually remembered this one: 5 names and Basium's fingers. I really like the pedia entry for him.
On each of the fallen angel's fingers was carved one of the five angelic names for the Most Holy One.
- Niilo
vorshlumpf Apr 22, 2007, 12:05 AM How many days in the year in the FfH setting?
MagisterCultuum Apr 22, 2007, 12:48 AM You are correct.
Nikis-Knight Apr 22, 2007, 10:08 AM 336
Name 3 heroes (as in the units) to be on Erebus during the last age.
Kael Apr 22, 2007, 10:39 AM 336
Name 3 heroes (as in the units) to be on Erebus during the last age.
Bonus points if you name the 4th.
MagisterCultuum Apr 22, 2007, 12:58 PM When you say last age, do you mean Age of Magic or of Ice?
Bambur & Barnaxus (both ages), Baron Duin Halfmorn (Magic), and Wilboman (Ice, I think. He doesn't have a Civilopedia entry yet.)
Kael Apr 22, 2007, 01:06 PM When you say last age, do you mean Age of Magic or of Ice?
Bambur & Barnaxus (both ages), Baron Duin Halfmorn (Magic), and Wilboman (Ice, I think. He doesn't have a Civilopedia entry yet.)
The last age was the Age of Ice, and I think the three you mentioned (Bambur, Barnaxus and Wilboman) were probably the three Nikis-KNight meant. The other hero I refered to was Yvain, who is mentioned in Arendel and Faeryl's pedia entries. That entry takes place just at the end of the Age of Magic so ne would assume (just as with Bambur) that Yvain lived through the Age of Ice too.
eerr Apr 22, 2007, 01:09 PM The last age was the Age of Ice, and I think the three you mentioned (Bambur, Barnaxus and Wilboman) were probably the three Nikis-KNight meant. it must have been hard, seeing as how elves are vulnerable to ice, : P
Nikis-Knight Apr 22, 2007, 04:54 PM I had in mind Wilbowman, Barnaxus, and Rantine, but I didn't say THE three on the chance there were some I missed, like Bambur and Yvain. :goodjob:
Now that I think about it, Orthus would probably apply as well.
MagisterCultuum Apr 22, 2007, 07:38 PM On what day did who suggest adding Keelyn to the game, under what name and with what suggested traits?
Gamestation Apr 22, 2007, 09:08 PM Jul 06, 2006, Nikis-Knight suggests adding Julia, the Creative Summoner (her traits).
Okay I have a question: Why would Cassiel be banned from vanilla civ (besides the fact that he just does not fit in)?
MagisterCultuum Apr 22, 2007, 09:30 PM You forgot to mention capricious
Gamestation Apr 22, 2007, 09:37 PM That's the second time that I have been one off with my answer. Anything else that needs to be pointed out? Think my question might be out of place for this thread?
vorshlumpf Apr 22, 2007, 11:38 PM All I can think of are mechanics incompatibilities like:
He's Neutral and Vanilla doesn't have alignments.
He's Agnostic and Vanilla doesn't have that trait.
- Niilo
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 07:55 AM I did say "besides the fact that he just does not fit in" for a reason. I'm asking about why Cassiel, if he did not have any alignment and was not agnostic or adaptive, would still not be allowed as a leader in vanilla civ for gameplay reasons. Think about it, why would he be kept out of vanilla civ if he were made compatible? Here's a hint, look in the vanilla civilopedia and compare with the FFH2 civilopedia.
:hmm:, I just mentioned vanilla 3 times (4 if counting this one down here) in this one post. Should I just put up a different question entirely?
Black Whole Apr 23, 2007, 10:04 AM Maybe because of his 4 traits he has. And because it would be unfair towards the other civs?
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 10:18 AM :wallbash:
All right Black Whole, it's true that it would be unfair to other civs if Cassiel was in but not simply because of him having 4 traits. Even if the two that do not belong in vanilla were removed, Cassiel would still not be allowed. Here's another hint: look in the Civ4 strategy section of this site right now.
Black Whole Apr 23, 2007, 10:25 AM Ahhh, found it! Philisophical and Industrious belong to the...Dah Dah Dah DAH 'forbidden trait combo', am I right? :D
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 10:29 AM Yes, you got it Black Whole.
Now that I think about it, I probably should not have asked this question since it ties too much into vanilla.
Black Whole Apr 23, 2007, 10:36 AM Ok, here is the next question:
A Hero and a Leader have a special relation ship. Who is the Hero, who is the leader and what kind of relationship is it?
vorshlumpf Apr 23, 2007, 12:19 PM Now that I think about it, I probably should not have asked this question since it ties too much into vanilla.
As someone who hasn't touched Vanilla in a very long time, I would have to agree :P
Though, I didn't know about these 'forbidden combos' and am now somewhat curious. Not enough to go look, though :)

The whole thing about making Ind/Phi forbidden is that there's just too much synergy. It lets you build really quick wonders that give double the GPPoints. Not sure if there are any others.
Love Apr 23, 2007, 02:10 PM Ok, here is the next question:
A Hero and a Leader have a special relation ship. Who is the Hero, who is the leader and what kind of relationship is it?
Could it be Hyborem and Hyborem and they are schitsofrenic? :p
MagisterCultuum Apr 23, 2007, 02:17 PM Basium and Basium make just as much sense. I would say that almost every hero has some sort of relationship with almost every leader, however indirect. Define "special"
Nikis-Knight Apr 23, 2007, 02:17 PM The whole thing about making Ind/Phi forbidden is that there's just too much synergy. It lets you build really quick wonders that give double the GPPoints. Not sure if there are any others.
It was a good question. I forgot the Cassiel was industrious, of course, how often do people stick with industrius first when adaptive, I wonder? I think Aggressive & Charismatic is also "forbidden".
Could it be Hyborem and Hyborem and they are schitsofrenic? Well, that is certainly a special relationship, but I think he meant one more unique, since Basium & Basium is/are in the same situation.
Kael Apr 23, 2007, 02:32 PM Ok, here is the next question:
A Hero and a Leader have a special relation ship. Who is the Hero, who is the leader and what kind of relationship is it?
There are a few, but Im guessing you mean the special relationship between Eurabatres and Cardith?
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 02:34 PM Isn't that almost the same as Hyborem and Hyborem or Basium and Basium?
Black Whole Apr 23, 2007, 02:37 PM As said before, Basium and Hyborem aren't the right answers.
First hint: As MagisterCultuum said nearly every hero has an indirect relation.
But the relation I am looking for is very direct. It isn't said clearly in the civilopedia, but the background stories of both have hints, which relate them to each other.
The special relationship has nothing to do with family, friendship or such. I would call it 'symbiosis'.
Black Whole Apr 23, 2007, 02:38 PM There are a few, but Im guessing you mean the special relationship between Eurabatres and Cardith?
Yes, you are right. I meant them.
Black Whole Apr 23, 2007, 02:41 PM Isn't that almost the same as Hyborem and Hyborem or Basium and Basium?
No, because Hyborem and Basium are one and the same person, whereas Cardith and Eurabatres are two different individuals.;)
Kael Apr 23, 2007, 02:43 PM Who killed Einion's wife?
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 02:49 PM Some deep blue demon with a goat's head and shattered bones I would assume.
Kael Apr 23, 2007, 02:51 PM Some deep blue demon with a goat's head and shattered bones I would assume.
Nope .
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 02:52 PM Figures that it'd be tougher than that.
MagisterCultuum Apr 23, 2007, 02:58 PM Einion killed her. She had been possessed and made to torture herself terribly, and a demonic mark was placed on her chest that made it impossible for her to die. Einion removed the mark, thus ending her life

Thats technically correct but it wasn't the answer I was going for. Einion did kill her by dispeling the rune, but who was the one that did that to her?
Gamestation Apr 23, 2007, 03:40 PM I have a creeping feeling that it was Valledia the Even who did that to Einion's wife as an attempt to convince the Elohim to continue warring with the Infernal.

Yeap, specifically it was Sammuel who did the task, but yes Valledia was the one who ordered it done.

Read the background entries for Logos and Vallidia. It's really neat how they are linked. Just like Sheelba's and Rantine's are linked. Hmm, and Falamar's with Rhoanna. Oh, and the two elven women (dark and light)... Guess it's not so rare.
Always knew I disliked her for some reason. Now I know why.

Yes, now why was Jonas convinced by Rantine and why was Rantine so convinced that Sheelba was the one?
Chandrasekhar Apr 23, 2007, 05:03 PM Probably some sort of prophecy.
Nikis-Knight Apr 23, 2007, 05:24 PM Yes, now why was Jonas convinced by Rantine and why was Rantine so convinced that Sheelba was the one?Is that part of your question, or are you wondering about it?

I meant for this to be part of the original question, sorry if this was unclear. I didn't want to give too much of the answer away.
vorshlumpf Apr 23, 2007, 10:32 PM I don't know why Jonas was convinced, but Rantine was given dreams by Bhaal. My assumption would be, if Rantine was getting dreams from Bhaal that Jonas, Bhaal's chosen, would also be aware of Bhaal's choice in Sheelba.

No adventurer player characters actually, only because I had used up all the PC names long before we started FfH2, which is where we introduced adventurers. There is one hero PC (Orthus as you said) and one leader PC (Tebryn) and quite a few Great People who were players.

Yeap, you got it. Ran was the player character of a campaign that the players lost. Ran and another player messed up pretty badly. Ran traded his soul to Hyborem for help but ended up dying anyway. His bodyguard, another player character, was off defending the guild from an attack instead of sticking close to Ran (they knew Ran was the focus of the attack). An assassin got through to Ran and the campaign ended.
In the next campaign (the one against Tebryn) the bodyguard became one of the parties mentors. He was very powerful but wouldn't confront Tebryn directly. Over years of play Tebryn was eventually confronted and the bodyguard was used to get the party out of a bad situation. That was when Tebryns identity was revealed, that he had been released from Hell on the promise that he usher in Armageddon. Tebryn ripped into his bodyguard, blaming him for creating all of this and condemning him to hell, and now fighting to return him there.
These cycles were pretty typical in the campaigns. Trenton Majosi was a player character who allowed his people to be destroyed rather than summon Danalin into creation and start another godswar. In the next campaign the worship of the water god was foul and dark, about storms and nightmares. No direct reason was given, it was just a different world and things didn't stay the same some of these were effected by the players actions, some were by other major events that were unfolding.

Kael Apr 26, 2007, 08:36 PM No good question comes to mind.... Who is Kyorlin, and which Hero is related to him ?
He is the first king of men, the reason why the kingdoms of men are split, the eternal, the first archmage, the keeper of secrets, betrayer of the queen of pain, son of Nantosuelta (title, not biologically), father of the amurites, bearer of the godslayer and the slayer of the god of winter. He is the greatest enemy and hero of erebus.
Govannon is related to him.

Kael Apr 26, 2007, 08:43 PM Which one is Kael in real life?
Silverkiss Apr 26, 2007, 08:44 PM That's not a fair question, Kael =x

MagisterCultuum Apr 30, 2007, 09:15 AM eerr asked about the song from Vanilla Civ IV, so I am pretty sure TheJopa got the question wrong (and he only gave 1 name, not names before and after translating) . MagisterCultuum Apr 30, 2007, 12:57 PM Charm person
[TAB]The purposeful violation of a person's mind is often considered among the most serious atrocities imaginable. One's own mind is the ultimate sanctuary, a place that can't be directly reached by outsiders, a place where one is free to think whatever he desires.[PARAGRAPH:1]Yet many disagree with these notions, or more, dismiss them outright. A man affected by a charm spell is not gently tricked or pleasantly deceived--nay, he knows full well what's happening. He will feel the mage reaching into the depths of his mind, grasping all the feelings he has towards his loved ones, bending them until the treasured, prized emotions become horribly twisted. It is likely that it'll make the man hate the mage even more, a terrible, burning rage that struggles--but cannot defeat--the newborn love and admiration he feels towards the one who just raped his mind. With time, the mind will fight off the foreign influence--but in the meanwhile he'll love the mage so much he'd die for him. And often he does, unable to raise his hand in defense as the mage's comrades cut him down with laughter and merciless mockery.

Marksman77 May 01, 2007, 08:00 AM It's enchantment, provided that the chart you're probably talking of is relevant to FfH. I seem to recall some Kael's post where he said that this chart was not created for FfH.

Love May 02, 2007, 12:27 PM I think it was exp/ something... Can i get half right? :p
Nikis-Knight May 02, 2007, 02:14 PM Capria.
(yay I got one right!)
As an aside, he isn't supposed to have been killed. Just stabbed. He's gotta still be around to harrass us in the age of Rebirth!
GeeJo May 02, 2007, 04:24 PM Bleh, double post
GeeJo May 02, 2007, 04:26 PM I'm pretty sure my answer was correct, so next question:
Flauros, the Calabim leader, is Financial/Organized, but he had other traits some time ago. What was his trait combination before being Financial/Organized ?
Expansionist/Organised. Changed as it meant that Flauros was more likely to treat his people well with his 0 cost civics.
If I'm right, here's the next question:
How many days would you have between birthdays on Erebus?
vorshlumpf May 02, 2007, 05:08 PM Is this a re-hash of my previous question?

Silverkiss May 02, 2007, 06:29 PM Yes, GeeJo answered my question correctly ;D

Bah, serves me right for not reading the whole thread through. Your question now :)
vorshlumpf May 03, 2007, 11:03 PM Who was the god that broke the agreement to not interfere in the mortal realm?
- Niilo
Marksman77 May 04, 2007, 06:49 AM Agares
______
Love May 04, 2007, 07:05 AM Sucellus???
.SinClaire. May 04, 2007, 09:24 AM oh nevermind...
vorshlumpf May 04, 2007, 09:45 AM Neither of those.
Just to make sure my question isn't misleading, it should be:
Who was the god that broke the agreement to not interfere directly in the mortal realm?
The gods/angels were certainly allowed to influence events.
- Niilo
Kael May 04, 2007, 10:06 AM I think your question is fair, there has only been one god who broke the compact. Succellus was a pretty close guess though, but his actions were allowed by the compact because all the gods agreed to them.
Marksman77 May 04, 2007, 10:18 AM Mulcarn was the first one to enter the world. Sucellus followed.
vorshlumpf May 04, 2007, 02:45 PM You got it.

Marksman77 May 04, 2007, 04:38 PM What event lead to fall of a whole race?
If that's too vague, hints will be provided :)
.SinClaire. May 04, 2007, 04:42 PM the fall of the angel Bhall?
and the race being the Orcs; but the Bannor were also affected.
Chandrasekhar May 04, 2007, 05:17 PM I'm pretty sure that Claire's right.
vorshlumpf May 04, 2007, 07:38 PM The orcs didn't 'fall' from that, did they? I thought they stepped in to take over from the Bannor's absence.
- Niilo
Nikis-Knight May 04, 2007, 08:13 PM Morally, yes, not literally or from-heaven-ally. (if I understand correctly)
Marksman77 May 05, 2007, 01:45 AM Yeah, I meant orcs.
Avatarless lady's turn.
.SinClaire. May 05, 2007, 12:36 PM which Civ leader has a name from demonology that is, means, a strong Great Duke of Hell?
Love May 05, 2007, 03:21 PM Hyborem???
BCalchet May 05, 2007, 05:37 PM which Civ leader has a name from demonology that is, means, a strong Great Duke of Hell?
I'm pretty sure Flauros is somewhere in the lesser key of Solomon.
(*checks* ...and there he is, though often mis-spelled as Haures or similar.)
I was going to go with a rather easy question that hopefully hasn't been asked yet, but I just saw it was discussed in a different thread very recently indeed, so it's hardly ever a question.
Therefore, I'll put a different one here, instead!
...or not.
Just my luck, someone went and answered while I was in the edit window looking for a replacement question. :p
The below is correct.
Silverkiss May 05, 2007, 06:59 PM Bloodthirster from Dawn of War ?
Kael May 05, 2007, 07:12 PM Gandhi_rules was actually correct too. Hyborem is also a great duke of hell.
From the Pseudomonarchia daemonum (a treatise on witchcraft by Johann Weyer written in 1583):
Aym or Haborim is a great duke and a strong, he commeth foorth with three heads, the first like a serpent, the second like a man having two * the third like a cat, he rideth on a viper, carrieng in his hand a light fier brand, with the flame whereof castels and cities are fiered, he maketh one wittie everie kind of waie, he answereth truelie of privie matters, and reigneth over twentie six legions.
Mathers used this as a basis when he wrote the Goetia in the early 1900's. But Weyer was the real source.
Silverkiss May 05, 2007, 07:13 PM Hum, didn't see the edit. Next question then.
Who asked a god to fall so he could protect a sacred place ?
BCalchet May 05, 2007, 07:20 PM How sneaky, changing the spelling around to fool my search-checking!
(I even read about him with the 'Haborym' spelling somewhere, should have made the connection. <_<)

Yeap, how many game mods can list a 16th book on demonology as a source?
GeeJo May 05, 2007, 09:43 PM Hum, didn't see the edit. Next question then.
Who asked a god to fall so he could protect a sacred place ?
A bit ambiguous, as you could be asking about someone who requested that the GOD fall, or that the person in question falls themselves.
I'll assume it's the latter, and go with Sphener.
Silverkiss May 05, 2007, 09:51 PM Oh, sorry about it. You're right tough, I was thinking about Sphener. Your turn.
GeeJo May 06, 2007, 01:18 PM What class of people become Sects of Flies upon their demise?

vorshlumpf May 06, 2007, 02:52 PM Are you referring to the souls of the 'powerful mages' that are used to make powerful weapons for the demons that make up the Sect of Flies?
- Niilo
Chandrasekhar May 06, 2007, 06:05 PM False prophets.
GeeJo May 06, 2007, 10:55 PM Chandra got it. Your question? :)
Chandrasekhar May 06, 2007, 11:09 PM Hum... so tough to find one that'll pose a challenge.
Which civilizations have a unique promotion that is applied to their units to show that they're different from other units of the same name?
