View Full Version : What movie(s) have you recently seen 2
Love Apr 20, 2007, 01:59 PM Previous tread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=185310&page=51
For all the other, this is the movie tread where you can say what movies you have seen recently as the title says...
Pokurcz Apr 20, 2007, 02:19 PM Team America World Police is a nice flick, I would have wanted to see it in school, or something like it...
The Last Conformist Apr 20, 2007, 02:54 PM I saw Volver by Almodóvar (sp?) recently. I rather liked it.
Jawz II Apr 20, 2007, 03:19 PM I saw Volver by Almodóvar (sp?) recently. I rather liked it.
Really? I saw 'about my mom' or something like that from that guy, cause I read such good reviews, one day after work, I went and saw it (I used to go the movies by myself a lot :D ) and didnt think much of it.
Wasn't bad or anything, but wasn't great either.
Maybe I should give that almodovar guy another chance.
Rossiya Apr 20, 2007, 03:35 PM I used to go the movies by myself a lot :D .
Hey, there's nothing wrong with that.
MrRats Apr 20, 2007, 05:20 PM I just saw a "Diary of Anne Frank" movie in school. It was the old balck and white one.
leonel Apr 20, 2007, 05:25 PM Any movies? I guess most recently was I, Robot on TBS. I wonder if I, Robot was the precursor to the Second Renaissance and ultimately to the Matrix though...
But movies in the cinema? The last movie I saw in the cinema was Doom several years ago, which was sadly very disappointing. VERY disappointing.
Kozmos Apr 20, 2007, 05:37 PM 300 it has all the necessary mindless blood, sex and violence that makes a smashing movie.
Speedo Apr 20, 2007, 06:35 PM 300; waste of time except the oracle girl scene (that actress is mind-blowingly gorgeous).
cidknee Apr 20, 2007, 06:52 PM 300... in IMAX.. i liked it..
Heretic_Cata Apr 21, 2007, 01:50 AM 300; waste of time except the oracle girl scene (that actress is mind-blowingly gorgeous).
:goodjob: Of all the ppl i talked to about the movie, i seemed to be the only one who really enjoyed that scene.
Kozmos Apr 21, 2007, 05:18 PM That's because she is a redhead, furthering my theory that redheads are the hottest examples of human females.
useless Apr 21, 2007, 05:20 PM That's because she is a redhead, furthering my theory that redheads are the hottest examples of human females.
indeed. but regardless, i saw hot fuzz recently. 10/10 i give it.
Speedo Apr 21, 2007, 05:36 PM :goodjob: Of all the ppl i talked to about the movie, i seemed to be the only one who really enjoyed that scene.
Oh, the scene itself wasn't anything great, it was the fantastic female who made it worthwhile. ;)
See, for example:

Kan' Sharuminar Apr 21, 2007, 06:23 PM indeed. but regardless, i saw hot fuzz recently. 10/10 i give it.
Oh good heavens, I knew there was a film I was missing!
I do adore Simon Pegg :D
Pokurcz Apr 21, 2007, 07:06 PM I just saw "the constant gardener", which was good, but not fantastic and thoroughly depressing.
And just after that I saw "Stranger than Fiction", which was very good but not perfect yet did still deliver a nice feeling very well transmitted through modern or barren 1970:s architecture.
BCLG100 Apr 21, 2007, 07:09 PM Oh good heavens, I knew there was a film I was missing!
I do adore Simon Pegg :D
you haven't seen it??? its by far one of the funniest films ive seen for awhile
GinandTonic Apr 21, 2007, 07:11 PM I just saw "the constant gardener", which was good, but not fantastic and thoroughly depressing.
As always, the book was better. Movie was good, but in a weeknight curl up in front on the telly kind of way. Great acting.
Kan' Sharuminar Apr 21, 2007, 07:11 PM Believe me BCLG, I am not sure why it's left my attention for so long. I've been proclaiming the greatness of Spaced since its first series, as well as Shaun of the Dead. Why I haven't seen this is beyond me.
Ultima Dragoon Apr 21, 2007, 08:15 PM Meet the Robinsons and Happily Never After.
Meet the Robinsons was really good (asides from me trying to figure out every possible timeline) but Happily Never After was relatively Mediocre. funny in spots, but overall, meh.
b etor Apr 22, 2007, 10:49 AM meet the robinsons was HILARIOUS!
also, blades of glory.
i just saw anaconda on tv yesterday, and the night before i saw constantine. both very good!
i was only watching tv because i was in a hotel and both comuters were occupied
Ramius75 Apr 22, 2007, 11:05 AM Prestige : not bad, and the twist is good. but the part about the tesla invention still leave the movie far from classic.
Perfume : nice movie, but somehow, mine copy seems to be censored... -_-"

"As always, the book was better."
Not always, "Fightclub" has made a good transition to the screen, so did "the world according to Garp" and "Fear and Loathing in LasVegas".
Yet in deed, books turned in to movies are often very poor.
thetrooper Apr 23, 2007, 04:15 AM Over the weekend I watched Prison Break, Season 1, episodes 1-6.
AL_DA_GREAT Apr 23, 2007, 04:23 AM Alien- the 8th passenger
Chukchi Husky Apr 23, 2007, 06:52 AM Yesterday I watched Gangs of New York.
Rossiya Apr 23, 2007, 10:49 AM Yesterday I watched Gangs of New York.
WHat did you think of it?
Chukchi Husky Apr 24, 2007, 09:12 AM Yesterday I watched Good Will Hunting.
kuukkeli Apr 24, 2007, 10:42 AM Couple of days ago I watched the Fountain. It was pretty much what I expected (i.e. not a sci-fi movie it's so often described). I thought it was quite good even though writing left a lot to hope for (especially the main characters were lacking somehow). I don't agree with the hype around the film but then I'm not a big Aronofsky fan either.
Yesterday I "watched" two films. The Sentinel bored me after 30 minutes and Borat after 10 minutes (not that Borat was thrice as boring as The Sentinel but I was thrice as bored to begin with). I must admit that they fulfilled my expectations rather well.

I haven't seen "the world according to Garp", but the fight club book sucked, compared to the movie at least, which was a first for me, in all other cases Book>Movie.
I listened to "Fear and Loathing in LasVegas" the audio book (my first audio book actually, wasn't bad at all). I thought it was better than the movie, not much better, but better.
Pokurcz Apr 24, 2007, 02:00 PM Well "the world according to Garp" the book only had a slightly longer plot than the movie, IMO they where equally good. It is a very nice film/book.
"but the fight club book sucked, compared to the movie at least"
What was it that you disliked with the book? I have read a couple of other books by Palachniuk, they where pretty good both of them.
I found the book a bit better because it was a bit nastier.
Fear and loathing the book was slightly better, but not much.
Tykinruoka Apr 24, 2007, 02:38 PM Saw "300" today. I liked it, since it had great bloody swordfights etc. That's all I expected from it and it delivered.
Jawz II Apr 24, 2007, 03:27 PM Well "the world according to Garp" the book only had a slightly longer plot than the movie, IMO they where equally good. It is a very nice film/book.

Mostly the ending. Very disappointing. I like the guy, I didn't want him to end up like that, even death would've been better for him than what did happen.
Never read or seen that garp movie/book, I might.
I liked that other film you recommended earlier: Underground.
I have recommended that one a few times here, we had a couple of "non hollywood movies" threads, I posted in them, recommending this movie.
It's brilliant.
VRWCAgent Apr 24, 2007, 04:55 PM Not what I have seen, but what I am watching this weekend. They get here tomorrow, and I'm quite looking forward to a marathon of golden oldies:
Battleship Potempkin
Alexander Nevsky (seen this one before, awesome movie)
Metropolis
Oruc Apr 24, 2007, 05:05 PM Sunshine was the last film I saw at the pictures and what a load of bollocks it was.
kuukkeli Apr 24, 2007, 05:12 PM Metropolis
I really should see this sometime. Lang is one of my favorite oldie directors and Metropolis looks really interesting. It's such a shame that Lang's original version is forever lost
kuukkeli Apr 24, 2007, 09:21 PM Just watched The Departed and to be honest I was disappointed. After all the hype and Oscars I was expecting a great movie but only saw a mediocre one. Acting ranged from okay (DiCaprio) to very bad (Nicholson), scripting was very sloppy at times and even directing was kind of bland for someone like Scorsese. Without the high expectations I might have liked it more but now it just didn't deliver.
bigdog5994 Apr 24, 2007, 11:44 PM I watched one of my all time favorite moves "Patton" the other day, i really love that movie but i cant get around the battle scenes because they used the wrong kind of tanks for it
JoeM Apr 25, 2007, 07:08 AM 300 - I would imagine it got a lot of airtime here on civfanatics, but it was a crock. Dub out all the speaking parts, shorten it to 45 minutes and you'd have an interesting art movie.
Cypher (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0284978/)- On TV, quite good for a movie with Lucy Liu in it and almost good except that the entire movie is pointless. What a waste.
[edit] Good lord, according to IMDB this waste of time actually won awards!
Rossiya Apr 25, 2007, 10:26 AM Not what I have seen, but what I am watching this weekend. They get here tomorrow, and I'm quite looking forward to a marathon of golden oldies:
Metropolis
If you watch the whole of Metropolis, I will give you one virtual biscuit.
Simon Darkshade Apr 25, 2007, 11:40 AM I saw 300 at the moving picture emporium, and it was quite decent as far as films adapted from graphic novels go. Less of the girls would have been optimum. The ending was rather spiffing in an old fashioned rousing sense.
Other than that, there was 'The Dam Busters' and 'Above Us the Waves' on the television of late; the latter builds the tension quite nicely until the triumphal shout from the communications man "It's N*gger!" and they go and nearly shake Barnes Wallis' arm off. Fine black and white pictures.
Edit: For some reason, Guy Gibson's dog is verboten. Tsk.
schmiddi Apr 26, 2007, 03:39 PM Just watched "Natural City" yesterday.
I can honestly say that I liked it.
PaperBeetle Apr 26, 2007, 05:31 PM The Lives of Others. Best film of the year so far.
300: surely will be the most visually impressive film this year.
Curse of the Golden Flower was pretty disappointing.
Phlegmak Apr 27, 2007, 08:57 PM I just saw Hot Fuzz.
That.
Was.
AWESOME.
Pokurcz Apr 28, 2007, 05:51 PM I so envy you!^^
Phlegmak Apr 28, 2007, 09:35 PM I just saw Vacancy. Sucked. Do NOT go see this movie.
VRWCAgent Apr 28, 2007, 10:24 PM I just finished Metropolis. There was an extensive explanation at the beginning talking about the restoration and missing scenes that were filled in with text explanations. Seems like the majority of the missing scenes involved the rather creepy "thin man".
Anyhoo, good flick and now having seen it, I can see the influence it's had on other movies that I didn't realize where they had the inspiration before. Obviously quite aged (and fragmented with the missing scenes), but all in all still an enjoyable movie.
Babel!
Babel!
Babel!
kuukkeli Apr 29, 2007, 12:47 AM Watched Children of Men today. While the script wasn't exactly innovative Cuarón's direction is always top notch and the cast did pretty good job too. Quite good film especially when compared to most of the crap that comes out these days.
Jawz II Apr 29, 2007, 04:25 PM I saw Superman Returns yesterday, it was pretty good, better than I expected. 3/5
I saw Wild Hogs today, pretty lame, but not horrible. 2/5
Rossiya Apr 29, 2007, 05:07 PM I saw Click tonight. It's definitely one of my favourite films.
What does everybody else think of it?
thetrooper Apr 30, 2007, 04:15 AM Over the weekend I watched Prison Break, Season 1, episodes 7-12.
I also watched Der Untergang (again). Such a kick in the face that movie.
Prince_Imrahil Apr 30, 2007, 04:20 AM Heh just saw Hot Fuzz yesterday. Bloody funny film! :goodjob:
I saw Click tonight. It's definitely one of my favourite films.
What does everybody else think of it?
Kate Beckinsale, some funny humor, a tad bit touching at a few parts, Christopher Walken, 'twas pretty alright.
PaperBeetle May 01, 2007, 06:25 AM Over the weekend I watched Prison Break, Season 1, episodes 7-12.
I also watched Der Untergang (again). Such a kick in the face that movie.
Oy, mighty film. Has serious deficiencies in structure/pacing (though of course it follows an established timeline so there's a limit what can be done about that) but that's not what you remember after the film. You remember that earth-shaking performance by Ganz, the sexy uniforms, and the total breakdown in the concepts of military and civilian, like no other war film ever really showed you.
Chukchi Husky May 01, 2007, 06:28 AM Yesterday I watched Total Recall.
Turner May 01, 2007, 06:34 AM Déjà Vu, pretty good.
Night at the Museum, not bad, worth the rental.
Smokin' Aces. Meh.
kuukkeli May 01, 2007, 07:22 AM Watched Perfume - The Story of a Murderer yesterday. Story dragged quite a bit at times but otherwise it was alright.
Tykinruoka May 01, 2007, 09:55 AM I saw "Death tunnel" today. This is one of the worst horror films I've ever seen. The story was horrible and the messy editing of the film didn't help it any. Why? When? Where? Who? How? That's what I kept asking myself during this movie. The story kept leaping between flashbacks and flashing "scary" pictures during action sequences that didn't have anything to do with the whole scene. Half of the time the characters we're having hallucinations that we're just mess of weird imagery and flashy camera effects.
Watch this movie if you want to see a great example of bad editing. The whole movie is just a excuse of showing half naked college girls and flashy images in a row without any real plot.
Rossiya May 01, 2007, 09:56 AM Anyhoo, good flick and now having seen it, I can see the influence it's had on other movies that I didn't realize where they had the inspiration before.
Cough Blade Runner.
Chukchi Husky May 02, 2007, 04:53 AM Yesterday I watched Dead Poet's Society.
JoeM May 02, 2007, 05:08 AM The Gift (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219699/)
Well made, good cast, but essentially predictable supernatural thriller.
Love May 02, 2007, 05:09 AM Eragon, didnt like it after reading the book
AL_DA_GREAT May 02, 2007, 05:35 AM Stepford wives, I hope some one builds a village like that. BTW ghandi rules Eragon was written to be a movie. The book is the bad version.
Love May 02, 2007, 07:01 AM Yeah i know... But the book is still much better than the movie... Anyway i give it a book that is extremely copied...
http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u197/dahlstedt/silmarillion.gif
Eran of Arcadia May 02, 2007, 08:45 AM The only book that would be harder to make into a movie than The Silmarillion is the Bible, I think . . .
Abaddon May 02, 2007, 08:48 AM Mel might see that as a challenge..
Love May 02, 2007, 09:03 AM The only book that would be harder to make into a movie than The Silmarillion is the Bible, I think . . .
Yes, have planned for a homourus flash movie whith a serious intro movie to the silmarrillion...
Abaddon May 02, 2007, 09:04 AM Why is the sil so hard?
Love May 02, 2007, 09:05 AM It's just so complicated so reading it is very hard, imagine then a movie... But only Nan i hin hurin can maybe be pretty good...
Eran of Arcadia May 02, 2007, 09:30 AM Yeah, but the Narn needs a lot of context; without the Nirnaeth, you don't know why Morgoth is doing what he is doing, and without Tuor and Earendil you won't get to see how his evil ends up backfiring.
aaglo May 02, 2007, 09:32 AM I saw "sunshine" a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty. And a bit poorly written. But it was pretty :)
Love May 02, 2007, 10:04 AM Yeah, but the Narn needs a lot of context; without the Nirnaeth, you don't know why Morgoth is doing what he is doing, and without Tuor and Earendil you won't get to see how his evil ends up backfiring.
It maybe can be a serie... First the creation, then... WTF it is hard yes... :p
Pokurcz May 02, 2007, 02:47 PM "25th hour", it was nice.
Heretic_Cata May 03, 2007, 01:34 PM I saw Ninja Scrolls or smthing like that. It's an anime. It was slightly better than all the animes i've seen. So that makes it a bit above average.
I've yet to see an anime which isn't childish/average/boring/lame.
I'll give them one last chance tho - i'll try Helsing.
Sparta May 03, 2007, 01:59 PM Mmm; Ninja Scroll. I personally kind of liked that, ultraviolence though it may be. I agree though that I never had much luck with anime either (although I'm probably just too uninformed to know of the good stuff). Nice one though! :goodjob:
(btw, while not exactly the same genre (I don't think?), I would personally highly recommend giving Cowboy Bebop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_bebop) a try before giving up completely. It's tough to describe fully, but I really like it. It is basically Japanese animation with heavy American Jazz and Western influences, telling the story of a misfit bunch of bounty hunters in the future. I personally liked the episodes better than the movie though (not that the movie was bad or anything), so if you do feel like checking it out, I would recommend getting a DVD of four episodes of the show rather than going for the movie first, FWIW.)
The only noteworthy movie I've seen recently was the Maltese Falcon, which was worth the hype, IMHO. Quality flick.
Oh and Kurosawa's "Ran", which was a retelling of Shakespeare's "King Lear" set in feudal Japan. Very solid, although it was a bit confusing to see a Kurosawa flick where Mifune doesn't come striding onto the screen at some point. ;)
Heretic_Cata May 03, 2007, 02:12 PM Mmm; Ninja Scroll. I personally kind of liked that, ultraviolence though it may be. I agree though that I never had much luck with anime either (although I'm probably just too uninformed to know of the good stuff). Nice one though! :goodjob:
It was in fact the best anime i ever saw. All the violence saved it. :D

I keep hearing good things about that. I might try it someday after i get another "i wanna watch some anime now" moment. I'll stick with Helsing for the moment.
Love May 03, 2007, 02:58 PM Saw 8 mile for a while ago... It was good...
mitsho May 03, 2007, 03:23 PM 300, and before that "Last King of Scotland" which is a really great movie btw.
schmiddi May 04, 2007, 04:50 PM I just saw Equilibrium wednesday, Funny to see many familiar places.
GoodEnoughForMe May 04, 2007, 09:03 PM Spiderman 3.
Really short, really, really crappy, and rushed Review: I hate spoilers, so I made sure that this is spoiler free.
Going into this, I was pretty much expecting a good movie (unlike Pirates 3, who's preview left me terribly disappointed and not looking forward to it as much), like the first two. Early reviews were favorable, although not quite as sparkling as the first two.
The movie featured the familiar wry humor spread through action sequences and whiz-bang special effects previously seen, although these effects were quite spectacular. One critique I have had of parts one and two is that the acting was mediocre at best; surprisingly, this movie was better acted by everyone involved, even though the parts were more demanding this time around. Some of Peter Parker's (Maguire) scenes in which he has "transformed" (and I'll leave it at that) were good, and Mary Jane (Dunst) whom I have often looked upon unfavorably, was pretty convincing. One complaint I do have is the crying scenes, they were used too often and weren't especially convincing. Also, the beginning feels a little cluttered; introducing two new villains, along with Harry Osbourne seems to have crowded the early scenes a little.
Spiderman 3 requires a greater suspension of belief than either of the previous two, but the excellent special effects and script make the jump easy enough for viewers. Good action and humor round out a fitting third (and possibly final) piece to the trilogy.
Pros:
-Improved Acting
-Special Effects Spectacular
-Funniest of the series
Cons:
-To much crying; too overdone, often dampened romance scenes
-One semi-major plot twist was predictable (the 'alliance', if you've seen it you know what I mean)
Bottom Line: I give it a 8.5 out of 10. I can only think of about 15 or so movies I have given better scores, and, me being the big movie buff I am and usually harsh critic, that's pretty damn good.
Colonel May 04, 2007, 10:54 PM 300, We are Marshall, Fly Boys, Smokin' Aces, End Game, Sentinel, Departed, and a bunch of others I can't remember
classical_hero May 05, 2007, 12:17 PM I just saw Spidie 3. It is not as good as the second one, which is clearly the best of the lot.
Azale May 05, 2007, 12:26 PM I just saw Spidie 3. It is not as good as the second one, which is clearly the best of the lot.
On that note, I watched the first two Spiderman movies the last two days. I can't really blame them if they couldn't up the first two, they were awesome movies.
GoodEnoughForMe May 05, 2007, 05:32 PM Just watched Rush Hour 2 on TNT, such a funny movie.
Harbringer May 05, 2007, 05:35 PM Spidey 3, was two and a half hours long and it still seemed like the last hour was way rushed, way way way rushed, everything just happened to conviniently fall into place to well.
Kozmos May 05, 2007, 05:40 PM Spiderman 3 was an efffing emofest of crying. I swear to godamn god there wasnt 10 minutes without a damn crying emotional scene. ARRRRGH! KLERIK SMASH PIECED OF EMO MOVIe.
Venom was also made lame. Where are the wicked teeth and twisted long tongue? Where is his humongous stature!? And his voice!? Damn Erik Forman without any kind of computer dubbing or anything. Why the hell they just didnt make Fez play it then.
Though I confess there were good parts of the movie. Especially when Spidey was kickass with the black suit and even slapped that annoying woman of his. And the blonde was hot too.

I just thought things got to fast and convienient towards the end of it, and i hate that, everythng fell into place all perfect and everything worked out fine. Plus there just wasnt enough backstory on anything.
GoodEnoughForMe May 05, 2007, 09:27 PM I just watched The Good Shepherd, which I believe is vastly underrated.
Ansar May 05, 2007, 09:30 PM I watched Disturbia and Red Line.
Disturbia - really good movie. :D
Red Line - if you like rich people who host races with really nice, cool cars and have hot girls everywhere, this is your kind of movie.
puglover May 05, 2007, 11:22 PM I saw Back to the Future again! That's in my top five now.
soul_warrior May 06, 2007, 06:11 AM the prestige.
saw it during the weekend. :vomit:
to compensate i saw KAW.
a grrovy horror flick involving ravens, a village, you know the rest.
if im lucky and i have some free time tuesday, tis both of Clint's latest for me:
Letters from Iwo Jima + Flags of our fathers.
letters is reputed to be better.
ill give a detailed report when i see them.
Jawz II May 06, 2007, 07:01 AM Did you know he is making another Dirty Harry movie? friggin cool.
I saw Motherloving Snakes on a Motherloving plane yesterday. It sucked teh ass.
I saw In The Army Now from 1994, starring Pauly Shore again.
I remembered it to be better, goes to show how much I knew back in 1994. :yeah:
cidknee May 06, 2007, 08:58 AM the prestige.

i actually thought the prestige was really good....certianlly a hell of alot better then the illusionist
kuukkeli May 06, 2007, 09:00 AM I remembered it to be better, goes to show how much I knew back in 1994. :yeah:
I know the feeling all too well  I can guarantee that the combination of being allowed to watch almost any movie since the age of 10 and being of that age at the mid 80's is a combination that allows one to be embarrassed of one's stupidity. I find it utterly amazing that movies like Revenge of the Ninja and The New Barbarians were actually some of my absolute favorites back then. I guess they showed different versions back then
soul_warrior May 06, 2007, 10:53 AM i actually thought the prestige was really good....certainly a hell of a lot better then the illusionist
that actually shows you how successful i am at blocking out the horrors of modern cinematic achievements.
quite the magician, i am ;)
edit-
girlfriend just walked in with a promo copy of HOT FUZZ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425112/)
from the cast of SHAUN OF THE DEAD.
should be hilarious to the hilt!
Jawz II May 06, 2007, 11:32 AM I know the feeling all too well  I can guarantee that the combination of being allowed to watch almost any movie since the age of 10 and being of that age at the mid 80's is a combination that allows one to be embarrassed of one's stupidity. I find it utterly amazing that movies like Revenge of the Ninja and The New Barbarians were actually some of my absolute favorites back then. I guess they showed different versions back then
Yeah, It's even worse when you see one of those old movies and discover half your personality is stolen from it. Little things you say and do and so on, only you've been saying those things for so long, you yourself forgot that you stole them from the movies to begin with.
I saw Hot Fuzz just now, and I dont see what all the fuzz is about.
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either, shaun of the dead was much better.
Pokurcz May 06, 2007, 03:18 PM Saw "Picking up the pieces", can't decide what to think, it was OK I guess, the part about "the finger" was great, but a lot of things in the movie where plain irritating.
mitsho May 06, 2007, 03:22 PM just saw Shooter, the movie was better than the trailer let me assume, but I bet the book is even better. Not that the movies is wonderful, it's above average, nothing more.
then - a day later - saw Pirates 2 with friends after a bit of poker play ;) I think - as far as I can remember - that it wasn't that bad, just a Disney children movie with more childish gags than anything else, but I thought it was still funny.

soul_warrior May 06, 2007, 03:59 PM just suffered through Epic Movie.
save yourselves....
its too late for me :old:....
Kan' Sharuminar May 06, 2007, 04:06 PM Adding myself to the folk who has seen Spiderman 3. I quite liked it, though there were too many villains with very little reason to care for them. Only Harry was the exception, and that's only he's had two previous films of character building. The final battle was exceptionally good, though very predictable.
By far the best cameo of Bruce Campbell though :D
thetrooper May 07, 2007, 03:20 AM Over the weekend I watched Prison Break, Season 1, episodes 13-22.
Season 2 out on DVD anytime soon?
Kan' Sharuminar May 07, 2007, 06:25 AM I happened across A Night to Remember last night, during one of my rare times of actually watching the TV. A fantastic film.
Chukchi Husky May 08, 2007, 08:00 AM Yesterday I watched Wolf.
thetrooper May 08, 2007, 08:16 AM Yesterday I watched Wolf.
Suits you...
:D
The one with Michelle Pfeiffer and Jack Nicholson?
Michelle Pfeiffer =
Chukchi Husky May 08, 2007, 09:59 AM Suits you...I didn't like it.
The one with Michelle Pfeiffer and Jack Nicholson?Yes.
soul_warrior May 08, 2007, 10:28 AM Alferd Packer The Musical (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115819/)
from Trey Parker of Southpark notoriety, this is a cannibal flick meets Oklohoma The Musical.
11 years old,and still as funny now as this was then....
miss this at your own peril!
Rossiya May 08, 2007, 10:31 AM I watched Get Shorty. Not bad.
Godwynn May 08, 2007, 10:39 AM Vacancy. It sucked.
Fairy May 08, 2007, 10:56 AM One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest && Taxi Driver, both awesome films :)
Rossiya May 08, 2007, 10:59 AM One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest && Taxi Driver, both awesome films :)
I agree. You're right.
amaterasu May 08, 2007, 11:02 AM Princess mononoke, it was really hard to find, but worth it. A great film, with a message ( not the eco one many people see it as, you need to look deeper) well rounded 3D characters, who are complex and highly believable. All in all, amazing!
Jawz II May 08, 2007, 01:00 PM I saw the first half of the movie "click" starring adam sandler the other day.
It sucked bad.
ParkCungHee May 08, 2007, 01:00 PM Last week I saw "Hot Fuzz"...waaaaaaaaaaay too much British for me to handle.
Rossiya May 08, 2007, 01:15 PM I saw the first half of the movie "click" starring adam sandler the other day.
It sucked bad.
Whaaaaaat? How can you say that?
Jawz II May 08, 2007, 02:10 PM Whaaaaaat? How can you say that?
It's a comedy and it didn't make laugh or even chuckle a single time half way through. ;)
I liked Sandler alot in his saturday night live days, and like the happy gilmore movie, little nicky, waterboy, anger management and the wedding singer.
This one I didn't like.
Rossiya May 08, 2007, 02:22 PM It's a comedy and it didn't make laugh or even chuckle a single time half way through. ;)

This one I didn't like.
I thought it was his epic. It's his best, in my opinion.
Kan' Sharuminar May 08, 2007, 02:44 PM I'm watching Titanic again and I still think "King Theoden" whenever I see Bernard Hill as the Captain. Keep expecting an army of Rohirrim to appear on the deck of the damned ship. Ironically, I had the opposite problem when I watched Lord of the Rings, and kept expecting him to order his cavalry to evade a random iceberg while on their way to Gondor.
Damn actors and appearing in important films that I like.
Kozmos May 08, 2007, 02:52 PM I only liked the Titanic for the scene where it was sinking and people were falling off of it and drowning. I laughed so hard in the cinema people gave me weird looks.
Jawz II May 08, 2007, 02:57 PM I only liked the Titanic for the scene where it was sinking and people were falling off of it and drowning. I laughed so hard in the cinema people gave me weird looks.
That was the only reason I watched that piece of crap.
I told my friends I wasn't gonna watch it, then they went on and on about how I should since everyone is. They sold it to me by saying someone falls off and hits a propeller.
I said cool, I've never seen a guy get sliced like that. Turned out the propeller isn't moving when the guy hits it. Major disapointment.
Kan' Sharuminar May 08, 2007, 02:57 PM Dialogue and the main storyline are pretty terrible, I will say. In terms of technical accuracy it's a pretty spot on film, particularly the last twenty minutes of it's sinking, which I think is essentially real-time, and the little snippets of real-life passengers. If it could just merge that sort of special effects and accuracy with something like A Night to Remember, then I would be one happy bunny.
Laughing hard at lots of people dying on screen may get you one or two odd looks, yes
Eran of Arcadia May 08, 2007, 03:01 PM Yeah, 2/3 of Titanic is a crappy love story, and 1/3 is a really good movie about the sinking of the ship.
Jawz II May 08, 2007, 03:04 PM I wanted them both to die, specially that two-timing gold digging whore. :)
I don't remember if she was married to the rich guy when she slept with the guy, if yes then indeed she was a whore.
Kan' Sharuminar May 08, 2007, 04:27 PM Yeah, 2/3 of Titanic is a crappy love story, and 1/3 is a really good movie about the sinking of the ship.
I have a huge love for the RMS Titanic, and given other peoples impressions of the film I suppose it's a good thing I'm fixated by the sets and backgrounds of the film rather than the main story that's happening.
I don't remember if she was married to the rich guy when she slept with the guy, if yes then indeed she was a whore.
She wasn't, but regardless I forgive her, as she's Kate Winslet
Till May 08, 2007, 04:47 PM I recently watched "Trinity Is STILL My Name!"(German title: Vier Fäuste für ein Halleluja) again. It used to be my favourite movie when i was 12 and it still makes me howl with laughter more than 10 years later. :D
bob bobato May 08, 2007, 04:54 PM I saw Cabaret. Now all the songs are stuck on my head.

M.C. and SALLY:
Money makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Money makes the world go round
It makes the world go round
A mark, a yen, a buck or a pound
A buck or a pound, a buck or a pound
Is all that makes the world go round
That clinking, clanking sound
Can make the world go round
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money, money
If you happen to be rich and you feel like a night's
entertainment
You can pay for a gay escapade
If you happen to be rich, and alone, and you need
A companion, you can ring tingaling for the maid
If you happen to be rich and you find you are left by your
lover
Tho you moan and you groan quite a lot
You can take it on the chin
Call a cab, and begin to recover on your fourteen carat
yacht
Money makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Money makes the world go round
Of that we both are sure
On being poor
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money, mon
When you haven't any coal in the stove and you freeze
In the winter and you curse to the wind at your fate
When you haven't any shoes on your feet and your coat's
thin as paper
And you look thirty pounds underweight
When you go to get a word of advice from the fat little
pastor
He will tell you to love evermore
But when hunger comes to rap, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat
At the window, see how love flies out the door
For money makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Money makes the world go round
The clinking, clanking sound of money
Money, money, money, money, money, money, money
Get a little, get a little
Money, money, money, money
Mark, a yen, a buck or a pound
That clinking, clanking, clunking sound
Is all that makes the world go round
It makes the world go round

What good is sittin' alone in your room
Come hear the music play,
Life is a cabaret old chum
Come to the cabaret.
Put down that knittin', the book and the broom
Time for a holiday,
Life is a cabaret old chum
Come to the cabaret.
Come taste the wine, come hear that band
Come blow your horn, start celebratin'
Right this way, your table's waitin'
No use permittin' some prophet of doom
Wipe every smile away,
Life is a cabaret old chum
So come to the cabaret!
I used to have this girl friend known as Elsie
With whom I shared four sordid rooms in Chelsea
She wasn't what you'd call a blushing flower
As a matter of fact she rented by the hour
The day she died the neighbors came to sneaker
Well, that's what comes of too much pills and licqueur
But when I saw her laid down like a queen
She was the happiest corpse I'd ever seen
I think of Elsie to this very day,
I remember how she turned to me and said:
"What good is sittin' alone in your room
Come hear the music play,
Life is a cabaret old chum
Come to the cabaret"
And as for me, ha!
And as for me,
I made my up back in Chelsea
When I goooooooooooooooo,
I'm going like Elsie,
Start by admitting from cradle to tomb
There isn't that long a stay
Life is a Cabaret, old chum
It's only a Cabaret old chum
And I love a Cabaret!
Jawz II May 09, 2007, 01:14 AM I saw Children Of Men last night. It was pretty cool, the first good movie I've seen in a really long time. 4/5
Usually action in british movies is done kinda lame and amateurish, but this one looked really good, they must've had some hollywood people working on it.
I totally got that beirut -84 or sarajevo -98 feeling. Made feel like gettin an AK and shooting some random mofo. :D
Made me wish if the feces is gonna hit the fan, that it does so before I'm middle aged, so I can get in there and do some ultra violence, before I bite the big bazooka. :D
:ar15:
Heretic_Cata May 09, 2007, 01:47 AM I only liked the Titanic for the scene where it was sinking and people were falling off of it and drowning. I laughed so hard in the cinema people gave me weird looks.
That's the best scene in the movie. I started crying when i saw that they DIDN'T both die. WHY ?????
PrinceOfLeigh May 09, 2007, 04:04 AM I watched The Prestige (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482571/) which as far as I'm aware has gone straight to Video. Strange really, it's not a bad film and had a few good actors/actresses to carry it too.

That's because all the good British actors, film crew are already in Hollywood and out of budget for a 'British' film ;)

Americain oven films are stupidly unrealistic. They need British people to make it real.

Children of Men is classed as a British film, which is good!
Harald May 09, 2007, 10:36 AM Saw Idiocracy (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/) by Mike Judge recently. Quite an amusing movie, not great but entertaining.
cidknee May 09, 2007, 11:26 AM I recently watched "Trinity Is STILL My Name!"(German title: Vier Fäuste für ein Halleluja) again. It used to be my favourite movie when i was 12 and it still makes me howl with laughter more than 10 years later. :D
OMG... I love that movie...I actually just found it, still in its wrapper, I bought it for my dad and lost it in the move....so, im gonna watch it.
Jawz II May 09, 2007, 11:39 AM Americain oven films are stupidly unrealistic. They need British people to make it real.
What is an "oven film"?
That's the best scene in the movie. I started crying when i saw that they DIDN'T both die. WHY ?????
You sick heartless bastard. :D
Rossiya May 09, 2007, 11:52 AM What is an "oven film"?
There is a brand of chip (French fry) in England called "American oven". I got carried away, basically.
amaterasu May 09, 2007, 12:21 PM I LOVE CABERET TO! I wish I could go see wicked some time to, loved both of the books ( wicked+son of a witch)
Chukchi Husky May 13, 2007, 07:37 AM Yesterday I saw Dragonfly.

BCLG100 May 13, 2007, 12:43 PM I watched The Prestige (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482571/) which as far as I'm aware has gone straight to Video. Strange really, it's not a bad film and had a few good actors/actresses to carry it too.
I saw it at the cinema, the only reason it was bad in my mind was because the ending was so absolutly terrible.
Saw 28 weeks later, not as good as the first one but the helicopter action was quite funny- leaves everything open for another sequel whilst not fully explaining what happens right at the end.
VRWCAgent May 13, 2007, 12:51 PM Manticore (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417943/), last night on the Sci-Fi channel. I do not suggest it for others, but I am unfortunately one of those weird individuals who will stick with a sucky movie just because I already started watching it.
Jawz II May 13, 2007, 03:08 PM Well I saw Eragon which didn't blow as bad as I thought it would, a weak 3/5 , and The Librarian: The Quest For The Spear, or some such. Story was good, the action and the effects were not, a strong 3/5.
kuukkeli May 13, 2007, 05:34 PM Just watching Hannibal Rising. I guess the fact that I'm writing this post at the same time already says so but the movie suck big time. Gaspard Ulliel is just so pathetic as Hannibal Lecter and the script must have been written by someone with intellect and creativity of an old boot. Good thing is there's less than 30 minutes left

What ? It's not with Anthony Hopkins ? :(
In that case it can't not suck.
Pokurcz May 14, 2007, 05:57 AM "Night at the Museum", 'twas OK, I can imagine that had I been seven to twelve years old it would have been one of the best movies ever.
kuukkeli May 14, 2007, 07:43 AM What ? It's not with Anthony Hopkins ? :(

I don't think Anthony Hopkins would have been much better as an 18 years old Hannibal
Ansar May 16, 2007, 01:56 PM I saw The Day after Tomorrow yesterday.
What a great movie, IMHO! :)
Rossiya May 16, 2007, 03:59 PM I watched Minority Report, very good.
MjM May 16, 2007, 07:17 PM I saw Dawn Of The Dead, Scream, American Physcho, Die Hard With A Vengance, The Rock, Spider-Man 3, and some other ones I forget in the past week.
Kan' Sharuminar May 16, 2007, 07:24 PM I saw the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. It was great :D
kuukkeli May 16, 2007, 07:32 PM I watched Apocalypto the other day. It was better than I feared and worse than I hoped. It kind of reminded me of those 80's barbarian films but with better production values.
Chukchi Husky May 17, 2007, 05:05 AM Yesterday I saw The Sixth Day,
kuukkeli May 17, 2007, 06:50 PM Just watched The Messengers. It was definately one the best American films resulting from the Asian horror boom. Basically it was an American horror story made in an Asian way which seems to be much better approach than the usual way of taking an Asian story and turn it into Hollywood horror. Nothing new for sure but a nice recycling of old.
puglover May 17, 2007, 06:56 PM "Night at the Museum", 'twas OK, I can imagine that had I been seven to twelve years old it would have been one of the best movies ever.
It was definitely the best "family movie" I have seen in a long time.
BCLG100 May 17, 2007, 06:58 PM I saw the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. It was great :D
I found that it ruined my childhood by simply being so awful! it didnt even have shredder in!!!
Nylan May 17, 2007, 11:26 PM Just saw Accepted. Disappointing, and the foul language was totally unnecessary. It had some funny parts though, and conveyed an intriguing message.
soul_warrior May 18, 2007, 02:40 AM I found that it ruined my childhood by simply being so awful! it didnt even have shredder in!!!
truly?
no shredder? none?
not even a shred of razor helmet?
where have all the heroes gone?
Kan' Sharuminar May 18, 2007, 06:34 AM I found that it ruined my childhood by simply being so awful! it didnt even have shredder in!!!
That's because it takes place after the previous films, so Shredder is long gone. His helmet was at the end of the film though, and they made a hint he'll probably be back if there's a sequel.
If they were to add Krang and the Technodrome, well then I'd be delighted :mischief:
soul_warrior May 18, 2007, 09:19 AM just saw Tenacious D, the Pick Of Destiny
simply a  movie!
very funny in a rock opera comedy sort of way.
amaterasu May 18, 2007, 09:20 AM lol XD
I watched howls moving castle for the unpteeth time again :)
Thorgalaeg May 18, 2007, 12:26 PM "Torrente, el Brazo Tonto de la Ley" so "Torrente, the Dumb Arm of the Law"
You surely dont know what the hell am i speaking about, but it is the best movie in cinema history, no possible discussion here. :D
Prince_Imrahil May 18, 2007, 01:54 PM 28 Weeks Later
Not quite as good as the first. The first ten minutes was very well done, awesome feel to it, but after that, (when the actual movie pretty much begins) it became just a very, hollywood, movie.
PrinceOfLeigh May 19, 2007, 05:24 AM Spiderman 3, and I can confirm that it does indeed suck.
Rossiya May 19, 2007, 06:43 AM Watched First Blood with Sylvester Stallone. Wonderful Stallone.
Jawz II May 19, 2007, 12:52 PM Watched Code Name: The Cleaner later tonight, it probably sucked.
Right after that one, watched Free Jimmy which probably was really great!
Pokurcz May 19, 2007, 04:04 PM The Funeral, pretty good mafia movie with a bit to much philosophizing in slightly the wrong setting. Otherwise nicely portrayed humanity.
BCLG100 May 20, 2007, 11:10 AM That's because it takes place after the previous films, so Shredder is long gone. His helmet was at the end of the film though, and they made a hint he'll probably be back if there's a sequel.

Yeah but he obviously isnt that long gone if they're making a sequel with him involved! :)

Nylan May 20, 2007, 12:41 PM I saw Shrek the Third yesterday. It's funny, but it felt really short.
Agreed. It was only like an hour and a half long. I also think that although it was funny and a good movie, it did not quite match up to the second.
kuukkeli May 20, 2007, 12:47 PM I saw some really, really, really awful A-Merican moviespielen called Iron Eagle. One of the worst films I have ever seen in my life.
 Then you must be eager to see all of its three (3!!! ) sequels. I guess I've seen the first three films and even as a kid they weren't anything to cheer about (though in 3rd Rachel McLish looked kind of hot).

I remember thinking that back in the day, and even though I was like 10 back when it came out, I knew it was garbage, which is saying something (I've watched that second rambo movie about 300 times).
Kan' Sharuminar May 20, 2007, 02:28 PM I watched the second Superman film (Richard Donner cut one) today, and it was great. I saw the first film, as well as the newest one recently, and there was something about them that left me unfulfilled. Really enjoyed this sequel though :D

Did you notice how the main kid sounded and looked a little like Jacko?
Jawz II May 20, 2007, 02:38 PM No, but now that you mention it...
You gotta remember (if you were born then), back then Jacko was the coolest guy on this planet, most popular singer, musician, dancer, entertainer, etc. :shake:
GoodEnoughForMe May 20, 2007, 02:43 PM Shrek 3. By far the worst of the series, and overall really wasn't that good.

Yeah :( I mean, the first one was great, the second one good, but thing is there's such a thing as too much moral discussion in an action movie.
PrinceOfLeigh May 22, 2007, 02:47 AM Yeah :( I mean, the first one was great, the second one good, but thing is there's such a thing as too much moral discussion in an action movie.
I came out of the movie honestly thinking that it had been on for 3 and a half hours. Towards the end the people in the cinema kept groaning as each addition scene played.
I wasn't a fan of the action scenes either. They were too quick to see what was going on. Probably to hide the shoddy CGI.
Chukchi Husky May 22, 2007, 04:03 AM Yesterfay I watched Daylight.
Phlegmak May 22, 2007, 11:29 AM Shrek 3. By far the worst of the series, and overall really wasn't that good.
I remember the 2nd being simply a movie long commercial for a variety of products and stores. I refuse to see the 3rd because I'm afraid it'll be the same way. Is it?
Abaddon May 22, 2007, 01:56 PM Anchorman - best film ever!
Darkology May 22, 2007, 02:07 PM Chaos. Very good plot
Pokurcz May 22, 2007, 02:12 PM Clerks, sweet Clerks, haven't watched it for ages.

Clerks, sweet Clerks, haven't watched it for ages.
Saw it again like 2 months ago, its still awesome.
jeps May 23, 2007, 12:54 PM all the 3rd movies. (Spiderman 3. Shrek 3. going to see POTC 3. etc.)
shrek 3 is basically one big Monty Python reference (with 2 pythoners on the cast)
Jawz II May 24, 2007, 12:52 PM Not exactly films, but I watched 2 HBO standup comedy specials recently.
One starring Lewis Black and another starring Louis CK. Both were excellent.
Raisin Bran May 24, 2007, 03:53 PM I saw Crank last week and its a great action movie!!!!!!

mitsho May 26, 2007, 09:24 AM I was yesterday forced to see Casablanca, and that really is an awesome movie, I must state in hindsight... ;)
Eran of Arcadia May 26, 2007, 09:25 AM Yesterday, for the first time in about 6 months, I saw a movie in the theater - Shrek 3. I thought it had its moments.
Pokurcz May 26, 2007, 04:57 PM Beerfest, pretty funny, had some of the most outrageously tasteless scenes ever, oh and lots of naked boobies...
Rossiya May 26, 2007, 05:06 PM Currently watching The Beach.
Ansar May 26, 2007, 05:47 PM Just finished watched The Core.
Eran of Arcadia May 26, 2007, 05:51 PM Just finished watched The Core.
I saw that a while ago. It was entertaining - mostly because I spent the whole movie ridiculing it. In an MST kind of way. But hey, at least the experience was entertaining.
b etor May 26, 2007, 07:50 PM Shrek 3
oh and i sat next to a really hot dude soyea. it was good.
GoodEnoughForMe May 26, 2007, 09:18 PM Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
I loved the first of the series, to this day it is one of my favorite movies; it had superb acting, a great script with humor, great special effects, and action. It felt polished, and with the exception of a couple plot inconsistencies, was great. I gave it a 9.5 out of ten.
I thought the second was a lesson in mediocrity. The first quarter of the movie felt like a waste, the script was bland, Johnny Depp wasn't the amazing Jack Sparrow he was in the first, and the whole movie just didn't seen that well though out. Good special effects and action kept it from sinking, but that was about it. I gave it a 5.5 out of ten.
I went into Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End with a pessimistic mind set, but I have to say, the third movie of the series takes a little of the bad from 2, but luckily for us, much more of the good from 1. Certainly, there are some scenes that make you cringe a little (the marriage scene, for example), but as a whole, the script is much more polished. Johnny Depp is back and better than ever, and there is much more of him this time around (quite literally). The movie is longer than the previous two, but each scene seems to have significance (with a few minor exceptions). The humor is back and much more natural than the forced feeling lines in the second movie, and the characters feel fairly developed. Great special effects and an epic ending battle scene round out an enjoyable film that relies more on the interesting plot, characters, and acting than the special effects, much like the first movie, unlike the second. The story is much improved over the second, and the movie just feels like more of an effort, and less of a cash draw. No word yet on a fourth, but they certainly leave it open.
Pros
+ Great acting, possibly Depp's best yet.
+ Interesting and more complex plot.
+ Great action sequences and special effects.
Cons
- A couple minor cringe scenes.
- Keira Knightley feels a little flat compared to Depp and Geoffery Rush.
Overall: Well, they managed to nail 2 out of three in the series so far. Here's to hoping there's another on the way.
8.5 out of 10.
Edit: I also saw Deja Vu (6.5 out of 10) and Benchwarmers (3 out of 10) yesterday.
Godwynn May 26, 2007, 10:03 PM The Amityville Horror. It kicked ass. 4/5
kuukkeli May 26, 2007, 10:24 PM - Keira Knightley feels a little flat compared to Depp and Geoffery Rush.

Kan' Sharuminar May 27, 2007, 08:42 AM Saw the third Pirates of the Caribbean. Not as good as the first one, but far better to the second. Should have had more Barbossa and Davy Jones though :D
I'll admit as well, the climactic battle I originally thought was going to be pointless (from the trailers,) was in fact pretty exciting.
Pokurcz May 27, 2007, 04:44 PM I saw The Departed, one of the freeki'n most awesome movies I have ever seen!
VRWCAgent May 27, 2007, 05:24 PM Planet of the Apes (1968). Watched it last night on The History Channel. Don't ask me why that particular channel was showing it, I've no idea. Still as awesome to watch now as the first time I ever saw it as a little munchkin in the early 70s.
Nylan May 27, 2007, 05:31 PM I watched spiderman 3 now... Where was hobgoblin? It was just "new goblin"
There wasn't enough Venom either

Yeah I recently saw that too, and it's lame as all hell.
On the other hand, another, awesome movie that I saw two days ago is Le Diner de Cons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Diner_de_Cons) (The Idiot's Dinner/The Dinner Game in English) and it was AMAZING. So funny, even with the language barrier. The ending is also spectacular.
Heartily recommended. 4.5/5
soul_warrior May 27, 2007, 11:08 PM saw ZODIAC

Corny stereotypical retardedness about how little miss idealist saves the world...
Though it may be a true story, it sucks as a movie, pure and simple.

Great Movie!

Civrules May 29, 2007, 04:54 PM Fight Club - Great movie. :D
Jawz II May 30, 2007, 04:01 AM I saw We Are Marshall starring Mathew McCoughahehey. It was a sport flick, but their team loses all their games pretty much, instead of winning the big game in the end.
All in all pretty good. 3/5
Beerfest, pretty funny, had some of the most outrageously tasteless scenes ever, oh and lots of naked boobies...

is it just me, or does that seem wrong?
if its not good enough to sit through, you have better things to do.
and i too tried to watch this.
fell asleep after 40 minutes.
when i woke up > Shift+Del....
Rossiya May 30, 2007, 10:19 AM That the one with Leonardo da Capuccino?
Yup, great soundtrack. It seems that you have mistaken the protagonist's name with an Italian scientist, and an Italian drink, however.
Ansar May 30, 2007, 08:59 PM You poor guy.
I dont understand you people. What is so bad about these movies?
I enjoy that kind of "crappy" sci-fi.

It was interesting at times, but mostly a bore.
soul_warrior May 31, 2007, 02:31 AM saw DREAM GIRLS last night.
not a bad flick.
not as good as RAY, but better than CHICAGO.
yes, its a musical.
beyonce sucks there, but the "Aretha" character can SINGGGGGGGG.
she was my fav.
some (ok, about 30-40%) of the songs were the catchy crappy R&B ballads, but the uptempo stuff there is really cool.
all in all, very well spent 130 minutes.
8.5 out of 10
TheBladeRoden May 31, 2007, 02:42 AM Just watched Revenge of the Sith for the first time, after having all the good scenes already spoiled by that history channel show :p

A great war movie, if not entirely accurate.

Sylvester Stallone though... :aargh::ar15::sniper::trouble:
