View Full Version : Powerloader - 4/23/2007
NavyDawg Apr 24, 2007, 12:53 AM This is a future era worker based on the powerloader suit from Aliens. Actual unit is about 15% smaller than the preview. Thanks to Neomega for providing some of the unit sounds. Enjoy.:)

Commodore Apr 24, 2007, 12:58 AM Nice. This will be a good fit for GDI's Wolverine in the Tiberian Sun scenario.
aaglo Apr 24, 2007, 01:52 AM That looks cool :)
Plotinus Apr 24, 2007, 01:56 AM Great work! The welding is particularly good. I want one!

Ultramarine Apr 24, 2007, 07:46 AM  Thats just awesome, a sci-fi worker unit!
Heretic_Cata Apr 24, 2007, 09:07 AM Get away from her you b***h!
I love it.
TopGun Apr 24, 2007, 09:23 AM I won't use sci-fi units as it's not "my cup of tea", but this IS a nice unit!
Samez Apr 24, 2007, 09:49 AM Great unit!
Are there teraform animations included? (build fortress)
BadKharma Apr 24, 2007, 10:46 AM Great Job! Although like topgun said sci fi isnt my cup of tea.
Mithadan Apr 24, 2007, 11:09 AM That's sweet! I use sci-fi in the "future" era of my personal (epic) mod.
"Not bad for a ... human."
Steph Apr 24, 2007, 11:21 AM Very nice unit.
Do you plan to finish your old todo list? With the German and possibly Britsh modern soldier?
Dark Crusader Apr 24, 2007, 01:44 PM Your units just get better and better. Nice job!
Ozymandias Apr 24, 2007, 03:38 PM Excellent unit - I love the death anim.

NavyDawg Apr 24, 2007, 11:32 PM Thanks for the comments everyone. Please note: I just replaced the file with a new one with an updated cutting flic. The old flic had some rogue pixels above the right claw (you can see it in the animated preview). Every other animation is the same.
@ Samez, Included are four terraform flics that should cover the worker functions.
@ Commodore, wasn't the Wolverine a combat unit? It's been awhile since I played C&C...
@ Steph, those units are still on my to do list, but they have moved down as I've been working on my Sci-Fi themed scenario.

Yes it was, but isn't that an attack animation right after the fidget in the preview? If so the attack matches and it looks sufficiently like the Wolverine to be used in the scenario.

If you make a Tiberium Sun mod, I will play it. Then maybe I can play ALL the units without getting destroyed by the 3rd level :p
@Navy, very nice unit.

It's actually the weld animation, but if you like it as an attack, then use it however you want.;)
Speaking of the wolverine, I could use this as a base and make a more fitting unit. Do you have any concept pictures for me?

That good?
NavyDawg Apr 25, 2007, 05:44 PM Thanks, great image. I forgot that the wolverine was more closed off. If I use this model, it will be more open like the power suit thingies in Matrix 3. Well, I'll have to think on it, as I'm still not sure I want to do this anyways.:crazyeye:
d.highland Apr 25, 2007, 05:50 PM It's from the intro of Tiberian Sun. You can get lots more images off of google. I think, that you seem to be the right person to make the following units:

These are all units from that game, and the type of them makes them suitable for ANY Sci-fi mod. It could even go into your mod :mischief:
But enough of my nagging, it's all your choice of course, oh mighty unit maker.

The only unit out of those that I really need is the Titan (third image from the top), as it is the only one I can't seem to find a suitable placeholder for.
EDIT: @NavyDawg: You don't have to make a new version of the powerloader if you don't want to, this one suits my need just fine (you've done alot for me already).:)
flamescreen Apr 26, 2007, 09:55 AM It's a great unit. Aliens world is starting to get completed.
beboy Apr 27, 2007, 01:07 AM Very cool unit!! That can be very useful for "near future" scenarios!
