I'm sure this is a silly question to most of you....but.
If I have Civ4 on dvd do I still need the 1.61 patch?

You can find out by having Civ4 check for updates. The game was sold on DVD in Europe from the start, so the disc format doesn't say a lot to me.

Check the version on your main screen. If it say 1.61, you don't need patch.

You don't need the patch 1.61 if you install warlords expansion. You need patch 2.08 for warlords expansion.
