ordinaryguy May 04, 2007, 02:03 AM Could we have a screenshot of the city screen and your plans for this city? Thank you.
Hyronymus May 04, 2007, 07:31 AM Click on the link in the first post and you have the city screen. For some reason it looked like a true image when I made the post but when I hit submit it turned into an ordinary link :(.
My plans are to make Coppertown a culture bomb with a fair share of production too. The Copper and hills surrounding Coppertown should mnake that possible. It would be nice if we can construct an important Wonder like Notre Dame in Coppertown. It'll kick ass :culture:-wise and Notre Dame adds 1 content citizen to every city on the continent. If we go for Conquer/domination we can use this benefit very well to keep the people at home happy while our armies wage war.

You aim to flip a French city? That could be interesting. But I think that if that is to be achieved, it would be hard as
1. Coppertown is more than 3 tiles from the French city
2. You would need the help of other cities (maybe Riversight) to combine cultural pressure. Otherwise, once Nappy builds an obelisk or gets a religion there, it would be nearly impossible.
Hyronymus May 04, 2007, 07:59 AM Coppertown is already culturally oppressive towards Rheims.
robboo May 04, 2007, 08:45 AM I would necessarily think you can flip it without some serious culture being generated. BUT the culture "pressure may stop them from grabbing any of your fat cross.
I would hope that if we happen to get a Great Artist we can use it here. IT would then give us a better chance to flip it. I would also run a specialist that generates culture. Lets just try to hold our fat cross then get a wonder to help the culture battle.
grant2004 May 04, 2007, 08:49 AM I agree that flipping the French city will be difficult, however I think that sometime in the near future we should rush towards music, a great artist would surely give you a huge edge over Rheims, and not having the save in front of me at the moment, I think there's a nice wonder to go along with music as well.
Hyronymus May 04, 2007, 09:08 AM [...] I think there's a nice wonder to go along with music as well.
Notre Dame (read up).
grant2004 May 04, 2007, 10:15 AM Ah thanks, thought it was one of those big cathedrals :)
Hyronymus May 04, 2007, 04:45 PM Clearly we have to cancel the construction of the Monastery in Coppertown. Since we have Barracks and additional growth I consider switching citizens from growth tiles to production tiles and start constructing 2 Swordsman to start with. Together with Chariots currently garrisonned in Coppertown and the Axeman defending the Copper we should be able to capture or raze Rheims.

:thumbs up: Just ensure that the city doesn't take too long to grow.

Thats barracks now has a use, maybe chieftess is psyhic
Hyronymus May 06, 2007, 08:24 AM As suggested Coppertown will focus on producing Axeman. I do like to hear from the Warlord though if he wants some Swordsman too though.
Falcon02 May 06, 2007, 09:05 AM A Couple of swordsmen would be appreciated, however right now the priority should be on Axemen.

We saw the spike in power and knew something was up -- there were several comments on tht in discussions. I was very surprised it happened so soon though, maybe Napolean has a personal issue with Genghis.

My theory, is that Napoloen saw how much the military was built up durring Falcon's first term, and when he was re-elected Napoleon decided a first strike was necessary. :D
grant2004 May 16, 2007, 08:52 AM Just saw your instructions for the next turnchat, it appears you've posted the wrong picture of your starting citizen distribution, I'm flattered by Coppertown's desire to be like Riversight though :)
Hyronymus May 16, 2007, 09:05 AM That was weird, I didn't see the image myself but indeed the link seemed to have found a way into my post. I removed it now though.
Bertie May 19, 2007, 05:07 PM We currently have two workers busily constructing a watermill. Might I suggest a switch to a cottage (or two or three)? We could use the commerce.
Also, your town is close to Rome and its Praetorians. We might want to add a Maceman to the queue just in case they decide they want to annex us.
