I happen to love this game, so this problem infuriates me. When I am zooming out to the globe, my screen gets extremely choppy. It also gets a bit slow when the game develops into say, 1000 AD, when there is a lot of action going on. What's really annoying with this is that I have a very good system:

3 GHz Pentium 4, 2 GB of Ram, and a NVIDIA Ge Force 7800 GS. I have anti-aliasing turned off and I have even turned the graphics down to medium and it still does this to me. AHHHHHH!!!! :mad: Help! :sad:

What os do you run?

If you've worked through the 1st page of the fix-it list (stickied) then you're likely as good as it will get. You do have a strong system. Civ4 is, regrettably, just a bigger "dog" of a game than almost anything that came before it. There have been comments of folks playing Oblivion full tilt but Civ brings their rigs to it's knees.
Post a dxdiag.txt if you find you still aren't satisfied with the stuttering graphics; folks will look.
