I was going to wait, but I don't want to - I have just pre-ordered my copy of Beyond the Sword. I'm doing it now for two reasons: (1) I waited to purchase Warlords and then couldn't find it for a week and a half after it was released... Amazon had shut off pre-orders about a week before the game was released and (2) I have nothing else to do.
Anyone else pre-order it?

When cIV came out, I pre-ordered it at my local GameStop. They didn't even have the game when they opened on release day. It came via UPS in the normal shipments several hours later. I was the only one to pre-order at that store. I don't think I need to worry about ordering BtS.

Pre-ordering is really geeky fan-boy behavior! Wait for release, read several reviews, then make up your mind if itīs worth buying or not! :coffee:

Well, when it comes to CIV you have always been getting a product worth the money at least.... No big risk to pre order! :king:
Other new makings of good old classics have really disapointed me this year. It's enough to mention Medieval Total War (played it 5 min after buying it....) and Command and Conquer 3 (What a waste of developer money)

I'll wait, the local Wal Marts will get it about 1 week after release.

The only reason I'm not pre-ordeing is that when I pre-ordered Warlords I got it 7 days after the release in the local Game stores. It ended with me buying the game twice..... :crazyeye:

My experience will direct2drive has been that they are a bit behind the curve when it comes to game releases. However, it's been a while since I've used them, so perhaps they have gotten better.
Given that I almost always have need to re-install civ games, though, I'd much prefer a hard copy anyway.:(
