I havn't played Civ 4 in several months, and yesterday decided to just fire up the game. I downloaded all the patches I was missing, and started playing when I noticed that you are unable to see farms or forests, and the like. I used to be able to see them, and can't figure this out.
Anyone know what the issue is?

I have the exact same problem. I can see my towns and units I can also see the base map features e.g grass/desert/water/rivers but no terrain features such as trees and resources.
Anybody come across this problem before?
I've tried updating my graphics drivers but no joy, think this is an ingame problem as aposed to hardware.

The only time I've heard of this is when someone is using a No-CD patch. If that is the case, you'll need to use the CD

Figured it out: I use a no-cd crack, because I loathe CDs. However, patch 1.61 for Civ IV has anti-piracy coding built in, so if you are using a no-cd patch certain things will not appear.
Solutions: Reinstall and stay at 1.59 or use your CD.
I guess I'l be forced to start using my CD :P
