View Full Version : Warlords and BTS compatibility
qwert May 14, 2007, 03:28 AM Hello, I was not abble to buy Warlords when it came out and now it impossible for me to find it, they donīt have it in any store.
What i asked me was if BTS will include those gameplay features that Warlords introduced (Great Genrals, Vassal states, unique buildings and those new units and traits) it would also be good if it included the civs and leaderheads of warlords but its not so important.
Does somebody know if will need to have warlords to use these features or will they be included in BTS?
Is there some official information of this theme?
If the answer to the first question is no, is there going to be a special pack with both expansions but without the original game?
feldmarshall May 14, 2007, 04:34 AM There is no official info that I am aware of, but I think it will be the same as the compatibility of the two Civ3 expansions. I don't own those, so I don't know. Does anyone know?
Horizons May 14, 2007, 10:14 AM Someone said BtS will contain everything from Warlords but the scenarios, but maybe those will be included too?
Grimus May 14, 2007, 10:20 AM Wow, I feel ripped off if BtS includes everything from Warlords as well... I don't even play the darn scenarios either.
I wish they would just do away with the scenarios and just concentrate their resources on the core game and even multiplayer capabilities... I'd rather pay for that than for scenarios... if I ever wanted to, I could just download a mod or something from the community if I want to play one of those (for free).

As was mentioned in another thread, you've had a good year of playing Warlords, so I would hope you feel it was worth the money you spent. Edit: Like you, I've never played the scenarios either.
[c3c] came out with all the [ptw] content, so I don't see why BTS wouldn't either. Besides, it'll make things easier as it'll only require one disk.
Duraska May 14, 2007, 11:02 AM While I don't believe there's any official confirmation about this matter, we do know from an official interview that BTS will include Boudica as a second leader to the Celts. Since the Celts were added with Warlords, I imagine all of the Warlord's civs/leaders will be included in BTS.
I could be wrong though...
feldmarshall May 14, 2007, 11:46 AM they can add boudica without having brennus in
Chose May 14, 2007, 11:53 AM they can add boudica without having brennus in
That would be dumb, i dont think they would do that, add the civs from warlords but not the leaders, in fact thats not possible because there is not enough new leader heads for that. unless they added some of the civs but not all, and again thats not really possible, they would not do that.
rickb May 14, 2007, 12:04 PM Have you guys completely forgotten how they handled this with Civ 3? They always include all the previous expansions when a new one comes out. I would be quite annoyed if they didn't include all the Warlords features (although could care less about the scenarioes) in the next expansion. I think of it as a continual improvement of the core game, not as expansions per se.
GVBN May 14, 2007, 12:10 PM In my opinion there are two realistic possibilities
1. BTS includes all important Warlords content except scenarios
2. BTS requires Warlords

thats true, but PLW was a terrible and not reasonable EX pack, warlords is.
