I agree. This map is impossible to play. In fact, I can't even see it, let alone play on it.

I don't care much for fantasy anything. Just give me good ol' fashioned realism any day!

That or nifty sci-fi ;)

No, this map is made of win and fun. How else are you gonna get corn on glaciers? I love this map. It's not the best one, but it's pretty fun.
If its not your cup of tea, don't play it.

I've never played on Fantasy Realm. I tried once but got confused by it and had to have a little lie down.

But I think I am the only person in the world who likes the Maze map. :yup:

You can set up the Maze map through the custom game option.

If you don't like it, just don't play it... there's not really much of a need to come whining on here... It was added with one of the patches as kinda a "just for fun" map, kinda like Maze... You can change the resource distribution to do some erratic stuff too (like randomly eliminating several resources altogether, while making some appear in ridiculously big numbers). It's not meant to be realistic, just for fun, if you don't like it, don't play it.

There is a map called fantasy realm. Resources are crazy and everything. You can only make a custom game with this map.

The point is to be crazy difficult. Don't use it if you don't want a challenge.

I don't know why fantasy would be considered difficult to play on. You can see what type of terrain and resources are right there in each square, so you just build whatever improvements you need. I enjoy this map, it's just creating random terrain the way the map itself can be randomized.

ah but isnt it unbalanced? and if I want a challenge isn't it possible that you could get a SUPER good start with a million resources?

the maps I've played in fantasy seem to be balanced as far as resources like iron and aluminum, and they don't seem particularly difficult. maybe I've been lucky...

You want the truth? I'm really bad at warfare, and the maziness of the maze reduces the length of the front line.

(O' course, I haven't played Civ in months, largely because of my general suckiness at warfare and most of the rest of the game.)

I liked having the resources on crazy tiles. Ice bananas are awesome.

I only played that map once or twice, but it seemed like there was a ridiculous amount of tundra and desert. Like that great city spot you're trying to beat the AI to would have about 6 workable tiles. (Including the ice bananas, of course)

If there weren't so many junk tiles everywhere, I would play it all the time.
