View Full Version : new traits in BtS?
Grimus May 17, 2007, 08:47 AM There were rumors that the new leaders in BtS will have unique traits.
So, does anybody think some of the existing leaders in the game now will have their traits changed again with the advent of BtS? Similar to what happened in Warlords?
I would like this... especially if there are more traits.
Martinus May 17, 2007, 08:48 AM Where are these rumours coming from?
If anything, it appears no new traits are being introduced, as all the leaders who traits were revealed so far use the existing traits.
Skirmisher May 17, 2007, 08:51 AM There is a question mark where one of Sitting Bulls traits should be. Maybe that is the new trait.
marioflag May 17, 2007, 08:55 AM Considered that some of the new leaders known have existing traits it's likely that there will be no new trait.
Joao II could have got an interesting Seafaring trait, the fact that he has (Imp/Exp) is IMO a great sign that new leaders will not have new traits.
Grimus May 17, 2007, 09:02 AM Oh, maybe I'm fantasizing then... lol. I could've sworn I read something like that, or perhaps it was just another player's post.
Would they still mix and match traits again to balance BtS?
Watiggi May 17, 2007, 12:31 PM Hmmm. I would imagine that Sitting Bull would be Spiritual/Protective. If so, then there would be two of them with Saladin. Maybe there might be another trait included that seperates this or they might rearrange Saladin's traits, OR maybe Sitting Bull isn't Spiritual after all, but I find the latter a little difficult to believe. How could Sitting Bull not be Spiritual?

Maybe he'll be Philosophical and Protective; or Organized and Protective... maybe Creative and Protective? I doubt they'll make him the same traits as Saladin, and I haven't seen any mention of them changing any of the leaders' traits like they did in Warlords.
Watiggi May 18, 2007, 12:04 AM An American Indian tribe that isn't spiritual seems strange to me O.o! I just can't see it.

I haven't heard any mention of changing existing leader trait combinations either, but then again until yesterday's IGN interview we hadn't heard much news at all. I think its possible they switch some old leaders around. What else would fit Saladin, so that Sitting Bull could be spiritual/protective?
Saim May 18, 2007, 05:39 PM Saladin would fit Spiritual/Agressive (he was a general in the Crusades) very well.

Thats been taken by Montezuma since Civ4 was released. I would prefer that Monty's traits and personalities are not switched, his AI personality is to unique to change.
