Just wondering if anyone is having the same problem as me. I imagine like a lot of people, I play all my games with the HOF mod, whether they are for GOTM or single player. I've just got a Vista Home Premium laptop which runs Warlords very nicely on Standard maps, even in the late game, but it will not work with the HOF mod (2.08.004). I've not tried it with previous versions.
It starts loading, but crashes before it gets to the point where it's telling you which sections it's initializing. I've tried it by loading the mod from within the game, from loading the mod from the .ini file and from the menu that pops up when inserting the disk.
I've tried Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode, and that tells me that I haven't got the correct CD in the drive!
Anyone else having a similar problem and have a fix? It's a nightmare trying to keep track of a large empire without HOF running!
EDIT: It's MSVCR71.dll that's reported as the fault module.
