Just installed HOF 2.08.004 for the first time. Ran a custom game, following all of the HOF rules, and I get this error message (http://img503.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hoferrorrl7.jpg). I uninstalled Blue Marble and cleared my Custom assets and still no joy. What am I doing wrong?

Since you had blue marble, my guess is that you at some point used civscale..
blue marble will not cause any problems in it self, but civscale will.. to correct it, the easiest way is to run civscale again and set everything back to default again

Thanks for your help, but I just tried that and still have the same problem. Should I have re-installed HOF after removing Blue Marble and CivScale?

Do you have any extra files in any of the assets folders or subfolders? copies of a something, zip files, etc. That can throw things off.
When we get people to reinstall we usually make a point of telling them to delete any folders/files left behind in Program Files or My Games after the uninstall. Also remember that Warlords uses some of the Vanilla's assets.

Looked through the lot and there's nothing out of the ordinary...

Looked through the lot and there's nothing out of the ordinary...How about in the HOF Mod folder? In the end, you may want to do the whole uninstall/reinstall thing again with special emphasis on deleting anything left behind in "Program Files" and "My Games" in between.

I'm doing that now. Here's my plan:
Delete the HOF Mod folder
Back-up all mods
Back-up 'My Games' (w/out CustomAssets)
Uninstall Warlords and Vanilla
Delete the folders left behind
Re-install both
Replace Mods
Re-install HOF mod
Would that work?

You also need to patch vanilla and warlords :)
