i'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out which patch to apply to my civ.
i have managed to find out that it is PTW (the box says civ 3 gold).

so which patch do i apply? i read that using the wrong one would cause problems, i figure it would be the UK or US one. I am in New Zealand by the way

If the lower left hand corner says '1.27f', you're fully patched. If not, you could try the 1.27 patch, but that may screw up your copy protection. Not sure how gold installs. You probably have the 1.27f patch already, because as I recall they shipped that way after the last patch was released.

Isn't 1.29 the latest patch?

No, not for Play the World. PTW's highest patch level is 1.27f. Conquests is 1.22.
