In Civ2 you could hit a F-Key and get a list of "GoTo-able" cities.

In Civ4, the RightClick GoTo is OK, but get really tedious if you want to move to the other end of a long, stringy continent.

Id like to see the Civ2 capability back, so that when I select it, I get a list of "GoTo-able" cities (Mine, then AI's) as well as all locations I've marked (Alt-s). Then just let the Unit go where I want.

How often do you need to send your units to the other side of the map? And can't you just click on the mini-map to jump to where you wanted it to go?

Very often. I (and a lot of others) am playing on huge and bigger maps, and it is more then just tedious to have to manually manouvre your units by hand.

1. Usually after 100AD the mini-map just isn't high enough resolution for me to see specifically where I want to go.

2. If I need to send a bunch of units from all over my territory to a single place, it's a lot of scrolling to find the city (or the transport to load) each time for ence one for each of the units.

3. If I set a landmark point (e.g. "Debarkation Place") it'd be nice to be able to Go To that also.

4. If I want to send a Great Merchant to the AI's cities, it'd be quick and easy to pick the city from a list and send him off.

Using a LIFO stack, I could easily Goto and hit Enter to send the units to the same place.

Make Signs be like Checkpoints that you can move units to.

I couldn't agree more! :)

One of the biggest complaints about the civ series, and this has been the case for every game, has been the inefficiency in management of your empire and army. Admittedly, Civ4 tried to improve things by, say, making you able to select multiple cities for orders, unit stacks, build queues etc.

Having marked locations (ALT-s 'd signs) as GO-TO points would be perfect!

Along similar lines, I'd like to be able to name individual units or unit stacks, and then I could send a unit to join that stack using the same GO-TO feature.
