i like the idea

Well, there's only three civs to pick from, unless you try to add a few more of your own. Actually, I guess you could have the different factions each be a different civ--that would work.

infested terran
zerg
terran
protoss
protoss-zerg mix (from Brood War)

and of course the various factions i guess (Kerrigan's Zerg, Kel-Morian Combine, etc)

we'd like more of your ideas before we 'comment' anymore ourselves...

even if there is only 3 (4 if you count the hybrids from Brood War, but you would have to make up their units) it would just mean the mod whould get done faster.

You see, there is only one type of infested terran unit. Infested SCV. There is infested ghost but that doesnt even look any different than the normal ghost...

Actually, they are Infested Terrans, not Infested SCV.

This defintely needs to be done. Just snatch the sprites and convert them into unit graphics.

Sorry. Blizzard doesn't allow mods about their games.

This topic surfaces here all the time in the form of Warcraft mod or Diablo mod. I haven't seen a proposition of a Starcraft mod before but just like with others, it can't be done as Blizzard protects its games like a mother hen.

If you wish to pursue this, I suggest you contact Blizzard. Given the history of Blizzard-mods, CFC won't probably host anything based on a game by Blizzard unless it has clearance from the company itself.

Maybe something should be added to the rules of the forum so that this doesn't happen so often. Of course, there's always the chance that no one reads the rules except Padma, Thunderfall, Chieftess and any other mod types.

You guys can attempt to get permission. I say good luck as I would love mods of Blizzard games, but they never give me the time of day.
