View Full Version : installing c3c and not civ complete Fo0dman Jun 13, 2007, 01:37 PM i just got a simple question, can i just install conquest or do i have to install all the other stuff like play the world. hope this makes sence. Turner Jun 13, 2007, 03:32 PM Conquests requires Vanilla Civ3 in order to install. And it will automatically install PTW, there's no option for that. But Conquests is part of Complete. I don't beileve there's a way to just install part of it. Eclipse4449 Jun 13, 2007, 09:51 PM A simple answer, install the whole game, if hard drive space is in question than go to the folder civ3PTW and delete it, (Do not empty your recycling bin!!!) thats like 540 MB but I bet the game will crash frequently because the install says those things are their when in fact they are not now, restore that folder in the recycling bin if it crashes. another option is to use a program like Winzip to compress those unwanted maps(but you should know how to use winzip pretty good first). i just got a simple question, can i just install conquest or do i have to install all the other stuff like play the world. hope this makes sence. Turner Jun 14, 2007, 06:27 AM It's not the map that takes up space, but the graphics. And I'm not sure if you could delete the folder to save space. Conquests does use some of the graphics that PTW produced, and there may be dependencies there. You could try it, but I would restore the folder if the game crashes. I just checked my PTW folder, and it's about 290 mb. Of that, about 245mb is the Art folder. So deleting the PTW folder probably wouldn't be a good idea. Since it's images, it won't compress very well either. Fo0dman Jun 14, 2007, 09:46 AM ok thanks for the answer. |
