Note: I'm playing V 1.61

I've found 1000 AD to be one of the better scenarios in Civ4. Primarily, I play as Tokugawa to pull off an Oracle-Liberalism-Gunpowder Gambit. I've also found Genghis to be fun, as massacring Qin, then IndoChina barbs, then India can be amusing. Any thoughts?

I've played as France, Germany, Russia, Japan, India, China, Mongols and Mali. Yes it is quite fun France and Germany and Russia you get to have constant warfarea against other European nations. Japan I go colonize everythig I possibly can and my Empire streaches from Manchuria and Siberia, into Indonesia and Australia and to California.

China, India and Mongols are all quite fun as well. I like to build massive Asian Empires with them.

Mali is a good one if you want to own an entre continent.
