Forgive me if this has already been posted, and if it's on the wrong board, but I don't know where the best place to post it is.

There is an article on the official PlayStation blog featuring Sid Meier, and his love for the console. I thought it may be of interest to the people here.

Oh please don't tell me I'm getting yet another reason to buy a grossly overpriced console with questionable future.

Sid probably feels the need to say something positive about the Playstation, which is understandable since Firaxis is producing content for it. The PS3 is so far pretty much a commercial failure (outsold by the Wii, outsold by the Xbox, outsold by the Playstation *2*, director fired, prices dropped, PS2-compatibility ripped out of European versions to curb production costs ...). Sony is in serious trouble, and everyone who produces anything for the PS3 feels inclined to advertise the system because they fear they won't make their projected revenue due to failing sales of the console.

Plus, the XBox360 is based on PC architecture and graphics technology so it would be pretty straightforward to port Civ over to the 360, and the Wii has a pointing device as standard for a similar control system.

Not that Civ is very graphics intensive by modern standards so a PS3 port shouldn't be too difficult. But you can get a PC to play Civ on which is cheaper than buying a PS3.

PS3 is expected to drop in price for Xmas. A lot of those who held out or want both (wii and Ps3) will help boast potential games sales for Sony game designers at this point

A pc that will play civ5 flawless will be more expensive then the pc's at the moment or at very least, see no change, so I see the price gap coming together by the time Civ5 comes
