Ok so this is some thing i have been thinking long and hard about and when i found out that permanent alliance scratched the surface i was quit happy but not enough because it didnt do what i was looking for completely hopefully it will in BTS so here goes:

Now in real life it is intersting because of interesting political entitys such as united states which are several countrys that make one large political entity/state to the rest of the world like USA,Micronezia,Mexico, and the USSR(although that is more like a collection of vassals ruled by the Russian SFSR) so i got round to thinking, wouldng it be cool if say this happend........... Ok Earth map 34 civs (it will be modded once BTS comes out im sure) and me (china),korea, japan and the south east asian civs are weak and small in comperison to big dangerous mongolia so we say: lets unite and we make one civ that appears as one civ to the rest of the world but is ruled internaly by the 4 civs mentioned and one civ (voted every so often) represents the civ in negotiations with other Civs, we share all resources but have to vote on war, the ecconomy works the same but you do get to vote on aid packages to other weaker states/republics. This scenario would make for a very interesting new system in the game, one that is needed it would also create interesting sitations like say now....Japan is makeing alout of money and that state is doing realy well and another state isnt so all the other civs send aid which tokuguwa has to pay to aswell so he leaves but the vote says he cant but he defys this would triger civil wars and such.

Also this would be very good in response to clonies, think about it i make 10 diferent collnies and they all become independant(they can break there vassalage to you aparently(said the guy in the interveiw))they might want to merge and make one powerfull civ that is represented by one leader but they all manage there own internal affairs except voteing one wars and aid, embargos and other stuff and way post your replys but i also have a question

Currently in the game a permanent alliance makes it one country with two leaders can you have a permanents alliance with more than one country and if so does this bind to the other countrys who you are permanently allighned with

PS: Im sure i have spelling mistakes but i dont care

Would be good , but they probably won't do it because the game is designed with a max of 18 civs, and the Republic/Alliance Idea only really works with at least 4+ civs in it.

Well the permanent alliance idea only works with two civs (i checked and im pretty sure its two only) and with the collonies breakin off to make enitrely new civilizations you would think mergers/Alliances would make sence it would be a might mare to break off like 5 collonies let alone several other civs breaking off several other collonies and you have easily 30 more civs or so this could be simplified with states makeing biger states represented as one large state to other countires like the USA as menitoned and i dont see why it shoul be collonies only as other countries adopted the american system in the Old World like the Soviet Union which is a collection of republics/states (15 republics) which make one country represented to the rest of the world by the Russian SFSR.

Any way i neglected to mention this should aslo only be allowed to occur if another state you are joining with shares a land border with you

I think punctuation would help a lot in this situation.

Permanent alliances formed within the game are limited to 2, but you can set as many as you want before a team game starts. Someone in the FfH forum is currently developing a mod of that mod which would allow you to alter many of the default values while starting a custom game, including the maximum number of civs in a permanent alliance.

well what would be good are multi-lateral Temporary Alliances, the key aspect being a common foreign policy (in terms of War + Peace at least) They could have varying degrees of permanence. (perhaps like Vassals one Could leave but that would lead to a possible War)

Indeed, such alliances are a must. Maybe for Civ V?

Multilateral negotiations (probably with tech requirements) would also be a huge improvement, but I seriously doubt they could program it in time for BtS
