View Full Version : Civ 3 on laptop - arrow keys scroll map, don't move units

I am playing Civ 3 on my laptop, and my arrow keys scroll the map instead of moving units (my home, end, page up, and page down keys do move units properly). Is there any way to get the arrow keys to move units instead? I can turn the num lock on and then use the number pad to move units, but since I'm playing on a laptop, the number pad overlaps with a bunch of the keyboard, so that's annoying... If you know a solution, please let me know, thanks.

You'll have to engage the numberpad function in order to do that.

On a regular keypad, the arrow keys move the map and the numpad keys move the units.

How do you turn on the numberpad function?

Depends on your laptop. There's probably a Fn key and some key that's the same color as the Fn and says "Num" or somesuch.

You can get a USB numberpad...

My laptop has a full-width keyboard with numberpad. :smug:

Oh yeah, that's what I'm doing right now. My question was, is there anyway to make the regular arrow keys (not the number pad number keys) move units instead?

Could be, but I'm not aware of one.
