I know there is a thread for free programs, but it seems like that thread is more for discussing the programs and sharing programs etc.


I'm looking for a free image editor that can edit animated gifs. I'm specifically looking to be able to paste things from still images onto animated images. For example a face from a picture I have onto the body of someone in the .gif. I have tried looking on my own, but the programs I found I wasn't able to do that, or the ones that could you would get a white box around the thing you pasted making it not blend in the gif.

In case you don't understand what I'm trying to say, here is an example of what I want to do. Note this is jsut for example's sake. I'm not going to put my face on van damme, and I'm not going to put king leonidas on gifs.

If the program is user friendly, that is a plus. But if it's a bit complicated or takes getting used to I don't care as long as it gets the job done.

The Gimp should do it.
