OK, people. We have an Election coming up for the Governor of Province #5. But before we have an Election, we need candidates to vote for. Therefore, this thread is for anyone to post nominations for that position. You can self-declare if you like. If you're not sure what all Province #5 entails, you can look at the Provincial Maps in the General Information sub-forum. Other information about a Governor's duties are described in the Constitution and other discussions through out the forum.

Why wait 2 weeks to fill the position. The Constitution requires us to have an Election in this situation. We could have a new Governor by the 24th. One less voting decision in the big Election. Let's get this decision out of the way.

Are you planning on assimilating those other cities because that province is pretty much 1 city that belongs to us? Not quite a province yet.

would you rather have me say annexed?

I realized that you needed an updated map, Curufinwe. (hehe)
So I've done that for you. If you cross reference the new SW screenshot map with the Provincial Maps, you'll find that there is already two Phoenatican cities in Province #5 and when the new city gets placed where the pike is (just NE of the BIG red "X"), that will make the 3rd city, which requires an election for a new Governor.

At this time, I would be honored to nominate SKILORD for the position. Welcome back, SKILORD.

I didn't know the placement of this new city has been decided on yet...

Donsig, according to the chat log and the mini-map posted by Chieftess, it looks like it has. I thought you were included in that decision. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll have to reread the chat log. You were in and out.

I second that notion. I'd third it if I could.

I think they did a spot vote and I voted no. Does the spot vote still carry weight or can I place the settler as acting domestic leader?

I'm not sure exactly what type of vote that was (administrative or what), so I'm not certain where the authority would fall. Someone else would have to answer that question.

Do you have a different location? If so, can you put up a mini-map? (with a BIG red "X"?) :)

Do we need a vote for this position? IIRC, the poll can only include candidates that were nominated and we only have one nominated candidate, so it seems that he is elected to the position by default. I can make a new thread for his election, but it will be just a declaratory post, not a poll, just as I did for other unopposed races in the last election.

I would say that is the right thing to do. This thread has been open 2.5 days. Looks like SKILORD won hands down.
