On another note... Rob asked me in his last E-mail... are we Patching this game...

I'm not sure, I have no feelings one way or the other on it... either way is fine with me.

The last email I had from Dave was around that time. July 25/26. So I havent seen that save either.

Sorry, there was the patch question and then I went on a business trip. It's been sent along as unpatched for now.

I patched Warlords so I could play HoF games and that seems to automatically patch vanilla, too. Then when I went to play my turn in game 2 I got a locked assets message. Uninstalled [civ4] and reinstalled it with the old patch to play. I'd like to use the new patch in our game but I'm not sure how to go about it. :confused:

I've already pmed Conroe, he has the admin password, so he should be able to do it (somehow).

I would be more than happy to upgrade the game for you folks. :) Fair warning though, I've never done anything like this before! I have read the instructions that Dutchfire posted in the MTDG thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=5704820#post5704820), and it seems straight forward. I will just need someone to PM me the most current save.

Edit: I assume I'll be able to open the save with the admin password. Or do I need the player password, as well?

In case it didn't work... I had to convert a PBEM for the ISDG. Can't convert this game myself obviously, but can talk someone through it if needed.

Unbelievably slow, about like the civ3 cage match. I last played on 10/6.

Don't remind me about that one. Well, at least it is moving faster than the original Cage MAtch. I've been waiting for Donovan Zoi to play his turn for, what, a year or more now.

explanation about the October "break"...I was on a research vessel in the Gulf of Mexico for a 10 days. I would appreciate if you didnt get the idea to kick me out the game until talking to me. I usually play with in 24 hours of getting it except ton situations when i am not in town or not in a civ computer that day.

I had no intentions of kicking you out, I think I've had worse delays in sending the save out myself without even being completely away from a CIV and internet capable computer at the time. I was just noting that at the time that it seemed the save was in your hands. Sorry if that made you or Conroe think I wanted to replace you.

Anyway recently the pace has really picked up, plan on playing my turn this evening and sending it out to Daveshack.

Thats cool...I should have sent a note saying why. I like the pace a turn a day or so is great.

/dual load..nope...try 5 versions ...civ 4, civ 4 patched after BTS, WL patched, WL pathed after BTS, and BTS patched. Got a PBEM or pitboss still running in all of them.

I've got a laptop without BTS and my Desktop with BTS
