Cristo Redentor! First time in Civ and it is the first South American wonder in Civilization series (correct me if I'm wrong)!

it was between the AP and the CR for me....But if I am not playing a spiritual civ, then CR is pretty cool....no anarchy! Otherwise it would be the AP...I love the voting. So in the end I voted for......CR.

Apostolic Palace. Even if I don't build it I will still directly feel its influence (it's not like I'm going to war against the civ that builds the Statue of Zeus).

Damn, I voted for Shwedagon Paya, because I thought the Apostolic Palace wasn't included in the poll. :(

I'm surprised most people are excited about the AP. It's just going to be the UN but earlier. Doesn't anybody else remember how useless and crappy the UN is?

Shewadagon Paya.
Unlock Free Religion early, erase diplo penalties for religious differences, and get a boost to research while building up libraries and monastaries to turn your civ into a scientific wonderland.
...And then crush everyone with riflemen and grenadiers while they're still all still using axemen and longbows.

Why isn't the Moai Statues on the list? I'd vote for them.

That'll teach Monty to declare war on me for no reason at all!

Heh... I had to go Apostolic Palace too...

Which is unfortunate because Cristo Redentor is from my home country of Brazil which up to this point hasn't gotten any love from the Civ team (no i'm not arguing for it to be a civ :p )

On the other hand, I'm not a Christian... so it's a little hard to get too misty-eyed over it for me.

Paya . Comes early and has a game changing effect you can base future strategies on. It is one of the wonders you can plan your game by choosing leaders before it , for it. Plus i want to go both Pyramids and Paya with Ramses.

Paya.
Comes with Meditation and lasts forever. If playing as Boudica (who starts with mysticism) I can found Buddhism, adopt theocracy, beeline for Iron working and have super Gallic warriors.

Paya. Call me a sucker for Free Religion before most religions are even founded. :)

Cristo Redentor. Is pretty cool to have a wonder of my home country in the game, besides I like have no anarchy. Shwedagon Paya is the second I'm looking forward the most. I usually adopt free religion as soon as possible to get rid of diplo penalties, so the possibility to adopt it in the beginning of the game is something I'm looking forward, besides that the research bonus of free religion is nice too.

The Apostolic Palace (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=222075#UN) without a doubt is the wonder I most look forward to.
There are many more options than the UN had. I think this one will be loads of fun.

The one I look least forward to is the Statue of Zeus. I don't think its bad. I just don't look forward to suffering through increased micromanagement due to War Weariness. I never liked having to scan my entire empire every turn to reassign citizens to avoid starvation. Though it will be interesting to employ spies to locate the Statue and then plan the war around taking that city out ASAP!

Second that (non-)vote. Many flawed polls in these forums.

In any case, being able to get production from sea tiles could be a huge win. Single-tile islands and skinny peninsulas could be decent city sites.

Paya. Play as Pericles grab Pyramids, unlock Representation and Free Religion and swim in a pool of Great People.

Most wonders don't seem game changing. The Apostolic Palace looks like it can make a definative difference in strategy. So that one looks the most interesting.

Doesn't everyone want a marble outhouse with a gold seat... but maybe that's just me. Excuse me I must return to my throne.

FOR SALE: French rifles for sale CHEAP, like new, never fired and only dropped once.

FOR SALE: WWII standard issue French white surrender flags. Each French 'soldier' carried three such flags on their person at all times. CHEAP, most are soiled... and worn from too much use.:dunno:

Possibly (and this is speculation) because the poll was only intended for world wonders, excluding national wonders like the Maoi statues and the national park.

Statue of Zeus if my neighbours are aggressive - that'll teach them to back off! :D

Otherwise the S. Paya as I often like to exploit the religious aspects of the game :)

Whose been voting for the Christ Redentor wonder? It's a cool wonder, but I'd like to know why no anarchy beats out AP, SZ, and even an extended golden age under MM. I guess I'm just one of the few who really doesn't get phased by revolutions (of course, I typically don't change civics every other turn either).

Oh definitely the St. Louis Arch!

Wait, what do you mean it's not included?

Perhaps it could grant -50% maintenance to Westward Expansion... :mischief:
