Be careful what you wish for...

You might run into a Priest or other unit with the Destroy Undead promotion and then, goodbye ghouls, zombies, living dead, etc. ;)

I don't see OO as an undead religion. I feel they have The Drown simply because of the way they are created (a drowning ritual, or somesuch).

One thing I find odd is the lack of higher level undead units, they all upgrade into demons. There are quite a few in there already with AV and OO, but at axemen and macemen level. If you really want an undead army, you should be using ashen veil with the sheaim. The drown are ok, but diseased corpses are 3+2 death and compliment the pyre zombie with 2+1 fire nicely. Ritualists summoning spectres and skeletons will lead to a fairly diverse midgame undead army. If you have a couple death mana nodes, spectres are extremely effective. Your strongest permanent unit is going to be a diseased corpse at 9 strength with mithril weapons though, although wraiths from your high priests and summoners can carry you through anyways most likely.

You could definitely play with an all undead army that way, not optimal, but not an entirely bad build either, skipping out on a few eidolons from cannibalize possessing diseased corpses will be a real draw back, but specialization in death mana isn't a bad way to fly. As long as your high priests get fire 3 you should be able to drop just about anything with wraiths. I wouldn't recommend multiplayer use of the tactic though, too many things counter death damage completely. Your eight strength wraiths become five strength against golems, siege, demons, elementals, and six and a half against angels, with numerous bonuses against them in return.

the god for the OO's is the water god (under controll by the mind god) so big themes are water and mind control

And, to some extent, corruption/mutation.

I'd rather there be more options for slaves. Some bizarre amalgam units created by a process similar to golden ages... multiple slaves of different races spliced into mutated abominations.

I'd like to see The Drown have a "better" upgraded version personally (maybe just to something that's simply an "Elite" version of the Drown, just The Drown with better stats). I like the concept of a water walking army but in the long-term, the only way to do it is to raise a group of drowns and turn them into Stygian Guards. It'd seem cooler to me to just be able to make Elite upgrades of The Drown straight out, rather than raise a Drown and upgrade it.

Also, one thing I find odd. The OO are water themed, but they don't have any unique naval units :/

Other than Krakens, anyway.

I liked the changes I was playing with just before trying the Options mod, although it was overpowered.

I made it so that the drown spell worked on any melee unit and created a drown with strength equal to that units strength (-1 base, but +1 death). The cool thing (which came as quite a suprise to me) is that this extra strength carried over when the drown was upgraded to a Stygian guard or Eidolon. (I also changed the alignment requirements for top level disciples so that any OO can build Eidola, and Runes Paladins, and anyone but Veil and Order Druids) Just for fun and flavor I made the spell kill the unit before converting it, so I could sacrifice Immortal units an endless number of times (the drowns were not immortal, but they still go the other promotions and xp). Calabim with OO was awesome. You CANNOT allow an OO player to get their hands on a Losha Valas or its game over (40+ water-walking heroic strength/defense II vampire undead/demon units with about twice the strength of the original Losha can crush anything)

I also made water-walking a targeted spell that cost the caster xp and the water II promotion, but still ended up a bit too strong when combined with the altars
