This is REALLY irritating, completely ruined ANOTHER one of my games last night... altho it may still be recoverable.

So Im warring with KK, bassically eatting him alive, he has 2 cities left, 1 really big one, and 1 really small one. Im falling behind in tech, but so is he b/c he has so few cities, but everyone else is starting to take off, so I want to wrap this up quick. Next thing I know I hear the war drums, and my best friend (+5 religion, +1 open borders, +2 fair trade etc etc) Peter declares war on me, Im like wtf?! and then I notice that he just took KK on as a vassal. Thats fine and all, but at least do me the courtesy of ending the war, but nooo now he hates me and wont call it off for 10 turns, meanwhile I have to defend myself from all directions, and like I said he has more tech than me and Im faced with his knights bearing down on me.

I took one of his cities with my Prats, hoping that I could return it to him right away for peace, but he didnt want it, instead he gave me some crappy tech. My WW was off the charts by this point and Im really far behind in techs, luckily I got Lib first, and traded Nationalism with him almost completely catching up.

So whats the deal with Vassals?? I seem to recall that as soon as someone took yer enemy as a vassal your war with them ended, but now its not doing that, instead Im immediately declared on, grrrr!

NOt a bug. Peter is not friendly, so he can declare.
If bouth of you in war, then it is peace, otherwize new master go to war to protect his new vassal.
You should have vassal him yourself.
