View Full Version : Diseased Units rafnias Jul 07, 2007, 09:43 PM Is there any way to get rid of the Diseased promotion on a unit? MagisterCultuum Jul 07, 2007, 10:29 PM The Divine Life 2 spell, heal. It will also get rid of poisoned and mutated promotions, and heal the unit a little (I think). This spell is availible to leaves and order priests, or to Grigori Medics. I believe I've heard that this doesn't work on the diseased corpse unit, but it having this promotion is its entire point. That probably means that the spell only works on living units (of course, only living units are vulnerable to getting diseases anyway) rafnias Jul 07, 2007, 10:43 PM thanks:) i just remembered the life 2 spell like 3 minutes ago :p sigh. i'm calabim, so i guess my poor super-vampires will just have to go around with a 30% strength reduction. you need divine for the cure disease spell [i'm pretty sure] so i'll try a hero or something. xanaqui42 Jul 08, 2007, 06:20 AM thanks:) i just remembered the life 2 spell like 3 minutes ago :p sigh. i'm calabim, so i guess my poor super-vampires will just have to go around with a 30% strength reduction. you need divine for the cure disease spell [i'm pretty sure] so i'll try a hero or something. Vampires aren't undead. R0GERSHRUBBER Jul 08, 2007, 08:25 AM Vampires aren't undead. That's the point; Vampires are vulnerable to Disease and have trouble getting rid of it, as they are unlikely (from an RP perspective) to have access to Cure Disease or Heal. When your Vampires are diseased, they tend to stay that way. rafnias Jul 08, 2007, 08:49 AM how depressing:sad: kenken244 Jul 08, 2007, 09:47 AM you can build the aquae sucullus wonder that you get at sanitation. any unit ending its turn in the city is no longer poisoned desiesed plauged or withered. you dont evenned to build it if someone ith open borders has it and you walk into the city rafnias Jul 08, 2007, 10:33 AM coincidentally, i just built the aquae succellus :] thanks for the tip! :D largedarryl Jul 09, 2007, 11:37 AM Well it's not that bad with the vampires, mainly because you should be able to feast your way to a Combat V, CRIII, 40% vs. archer/melee/mounted units. Basically that combined with the fact that you should be able to cast contagion(sp?) multiple times before attacking anyways. Also throwing a bunch of useless skeletons (even with 0% chances) should be enough to spread the diseased promotion to every unit in the defending stack. 3141592 Jul 09, 2007, 11:57 AM I don't mind if strong units have the diseased promotion. Once you have combat V and all those other promotions -30% doesn't effect the odds that much. Then the strong units spread disease whenever they attack an enemy stack and make it easier for weaker units to clean up. TheJopa Jul 09, 2007, 01:02 PM you can build the aquae sucullus wonder that you get at sanitation (...) you dont evenned to build it if someone ith open borders has it and you walk into the city Is this really true? If it is, GREAT!!! Civkid1991 Jul 09, 2007, 05:26 PM would be cool if you could reverse the undead thing... use the heal spell to change the undead unit to a living unit (worrior, axman, maceman, pikeman, etc) MagisterCultuum Jul 09, 2007, 11:50 PM That sounds like a potential level III life spell to me... BeefontheBone Jul 10, 2007, 01:25 PM "Un-undead undead" ? War Chicken Jul 10, 2007, 01:33 PM That's the point; Vampires are vulnerable to Disease and have trouble getting rid of it, as they are unlikely (from an RP perspective) to have access to Cure Disease or Heal. When your Vampires are diseased, they tend to stay that way. Mostly, but I just foundet the Order with the Calabim (Funny - Good alignet Vampires...) and therefor have plenty of healers around now. MagisterCultuum Jul 11, 2007, 12:12 AM Although the ability to build the Altars and the extra Law mana from The Code of Junil is nice, FoL seems the more natural choice if you want healers, since the extra health helps keep populations high. Still, I usually prefer OO (with some modifications I'm made to the game, OO Vampires are incredibly uverpowered) |
