I've always wanted to know how many research points I'm generating in the current turn, in order to calculate different alternative plans. However, this info isn't to be find anywhere.
The new Espionage Screen in Beyond the Sword shows the total espionage points generated in the current turn very nicely, so should the Science Advisory show the total research points. It could be displayed on the bottom left of the Science Advisory, the same place where "Combat experience" is shown on the Military Advisory.

Isn't this shown to the right of the Research slider in the main interface in BTS?

No, what's shown there is the amount of Gold you spend for Research, not the Research Point generated. Try this: Multiple the number shown to the right of the Research slider with the number of turns left for the current Tech. Compare that with the number of Research Points left for the current Tech, you'll see you wouldn't finish the Tech in time if the number next to the slider were Research Points.

Um, are you sure? I started a game to test this and it began at "+10/Turn". I then cheated and added a library to my capital and it changed to "+12/Turn". I wasn't spending any more, but I was generating more science because of the library.

Take my current game as an example:
In year 800 AD, I'm researching Machinery, the Science Advisor says "7 Turns (231/703)", and the Research Sliders says "40% (+57/Turn)".
Now:
7 * 57 + 231 = 399 + 231 = 630
and even:
8 * 57 + 231 = 687
meaning I wouldn't haven finished in 8 Turns, let alone 7.
Also, if I look at the Domestic Advisor and add up all Research Points of all my cities, it would be only 54, but I think this is because the numbers in the Domestic Advisor is rounded down, whereas the actual numbers are added together first and then rounded.
Btw, I have no Scientist or any other Specialist generating Science in any of my cities.
So, what's going on here?

Hmmm, that is odd... well, it's clearly taking into account Buildings like Libraries. Where is the discrepancy happening?
