Day 4

Three days since the BTS release, and three days without sleep. But not for love of the game, rather, for fear of inflation. They haunt me in my nightmares, those suited ghouls. Those who would strip me clean of my GPT haunt me, follow me. They taunt me, use my love against me. "Just one more turn!" they chant. But I know better, they only want one more turn to empty my pockets. Even now, I can hear them in the back of my mind, promises of food and hammers for a measly 200 gold setup fee. Buy now! Firaxis, why do you hate me? Why did you curse me with these demons? I trudge through another day, fearing sleep that constantly tries to seize my consciousness. Please, patch us soon!

Unfortunately, I got BTS yesterday, but have not the time to play it till 3.5 weeks later, when my summer classes end. Sigh.

I find that building courthouses asap helps a lot. And make sure you have free market. And finally, having a couple cities on wealth easily offset the inflation cost. I'm running at 100% research when previously I was running at 50% and as low as 20% once.

Corporations are all about greed - making money for themselves, avoiding taxes, and in a lot of cities governments give corporations huge tax breaks above and beyond or other incentives (essentially pay their upkeep) to attract them. So it sorta makes sense that corporations bleed you dry of coin in Civ - it's all too realistic.

Which is why you should have only the HQ in one of your cities and spread their terrible disease to the rest of the world.

Globalism works out great for everybody that isn't not the globalist.

Day 5

Last night, I could hold out no longer. The heavy bags of he sandman took hold, and I was plunged into a fitful rest. I freamed of Corporations and spreading, reveling in the population growth. I was even their spokes person in a print add, "Rome, size 50! Thanks Sid's Sushi!" I awoke to find my dreams a waking nightmare.

I awoke, seated in front of my computer. The suited ghouls had possessed me in the night. Taking control of my body, they spread their vile corporations throughout my empire, promising fast fish and affordable diamonds. But they had duped the masses, huddling them all in their metropolises.

Before they knew what was happening, it was too late. The executors, i mean, executives had purchased all of the farmland and hamlets that were abandoned. They owned everything, including me. Apparently they lobbied for a law that gave every life a contract, and only the Corporations owned the publishing rights. I abdicated my seat as Fascist ruler and left for the unknown. My country, ruined by the efficiency of free market.

Please Firaxis, prevent this tragedy from happening to others!
