The Assault Mech is probably the best military unit ever. This alone would make me want to play into the modern era.

Just load the Next War mod to add to epic, and don't forget to download the 'expanded' next war mod to fix some problems.

Well, according to George Lucas mechs can easily be destroyed by small teddy bears armed with spears and stones. :rolleyes:

I must have missed the previous mention of the "expanded" mod fix, would you please post a link?

I really wanted to use these and loaded the mod to do so. The problem is that they are so late. Maybe that's a good thing in terms of balance but I never got to use them.

I like the idea but it seems to require that you hold out for an extremely late game war. I like to have my warring done early, or at least finished in the ballpark of industrialism.
