View Full Version : Automated Workers Changed in BTS?

I have a quick question. In the beginning of the game, I always manually set the workers for how I want the city to be. As the game progresses, I switch to automate trade networks so I don't have to sit and make roads across my civilization. In Warlords, when i used auto trade networks, the workers would create roads and only change the existing mines, farms,..., if there was a resource that wasn't tapped. When all the roads and resources were done, the workers would then go sit in a city and wait for either new territory, resources, or the availability of railroads.

In BTS, when I set the workers on auto trade, they do everything the same as in warlords. Once the trade networks are all completed, instead of filing back into a city, the workers all switch to AI automate and redo all my mines, farms, and so on. The damn worker got rid of a perfectly good village to put in a farm so my already large and growing city could get bigger.

This is very annoying, and while I like the auto trade network, I am willing to do it myself if I can't get the workers to stop messing with my already existing mines and stuff. Is there a way to get the workers to stop changing the landscape?!?

There is an option called 'Workers leave old improvements'. I think it is OFF by default. That may be your problem.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

you should turn on "Workers leave forests" as well or you'll quickly run into deforestation problems...
