View Full Version : Quiet sound and what's High Detail Terrain?

Anyone else have sound that's too quiet no matter what your windows volume control is?

Also, in the video options tab there's a spot where you can check high detail terrain. Does this option use a different set of textures than the default? If so, why is it unchecked by default? Does it kill performance late game pretty bad?

No sound issues here.

I think that high detail terrain takes quite a bit more video memory. I got an out of video memory error on a map one step bigger than default at about year 1900. dxdiag says I have ~1250mb of video memory, I have 2gb of system memory. Of course, this is with Windows Vista and NVidia drivers so ymmv.
