Hello. I want to say I love this mod. I am having problems understanding the air combat though. Let me give you an example. I am playing as the US, and I've just entered the war a few turns ago. I have taken Tubruq in N Africa, and I have 5 P51s, 9 cruisers, and 3 anti aircraft guns. I have a few tanks and some infantry. My land units are getting crushed by bombers, and i'm not shootng anything down.

I played through till '44 or so before and had 10+ AA guns in a city, as well as planes, and had a similiar result: The eney bombed the heck out of me and not one bombber of thiers was shot down, or hindered by my AA. Is this bugged, or am I missing how to use these units? Thanks!

Note there is a bug with AA in that you cannot put it into intercept, so they won't shoot down enemy planes.

As for fighters, are you putting them into interception mode (grey button with plane and box around it)? Planes will not intercept if they've performed a mission or are asleep/fortified/stationary.

OK, the AA bug explains a lot. My planes are shooting down some enemy bombers, but on some turns it doesn't seem proportionate to how many I have. When I played the scenario through the first time I had units get bombed in cities where 12 P51s were in intercept, and not one german bomber was shot down or intercepted.

I'll experiment some more with the game i'm currently playing. Thanks for your response. I'll be looking for the first pack for your mod. Keep up the good work!

EDIT:Here is a case in point. I went back after posting and took a few turns. On this last one I had 8 P51's in intercept, as well as 9 cruisers (all with an aircraft intercept chance). 4 of my land units were damaged and I didn't see one instance of a successful intercept by any of my units. Isn't that odd?

Interception chances in RtW are lower than the epic game. :)

The promotions are more important. Also, the ability of higher level bombers to avoid interception over low level fighters is greater too.

For fighters you need to continuously keep them upgraded and promoted. Otherwise you can get a bit over-run.

The AA bug doesn't help either mind you. :p

Well, from my understanding that explanation makes sense when looking more historically rather than Civ-like. You spent a great deal of time making this more realistic. I did see a much greater intercept success when I starting promting(after the edit post).

It seems to make defending tough, along with the increased movement of the land based units, but i'm sure without it the scenario wouldn't play out as it should. The AA fix should balance it a little, but in the mean time i'll just have to use bombers more myself since there isn't as a great an intercept chance as i'm used to :)

Thanks again for the mod, looking forward to updates.
