I got this quest for the first time last night, it was for alum co, they wanted me to get more coal I think. The problem was it told me to get "0 more sources of resource ()"

Next turn, I completed the quest automagically and got the bonus of +20 gold on the alum co HQ. I looked around and it seems no other nation had coal..and only later when I was in the new world did I find a source of coal hidden by the shroud. Could it have failed because I had no way of seeing any other sources of coal?

Do you have a save available for this? Ideally, just before you got the quest? This does indeed look like a bug.

I won the quest with civilized jewelers because a resource of jems appeared in one of my mines.it is possible that the same happened for you with a new coal resource appearing which you didn't notice.

I have a save later in the game, but not the turn before. I can't even remember how many turns ago I got the quest. Not that long ago, I think I founded Alum Co around 1850ish, so it was probably within 50 turns.

My problem was with the quest description. It actually said I needed 0 more sources of resource (). My only assumption was that it was coal it needed because thats what Alum runs on. It never mentioned coal, or the fact that I needed more of them.

Thanks... but the key thing here is to understand if you were given the quest when you already had the things to satisfy it (and also why it said "0 more sources of resource()". Normally, "more" means "more" - not existing. If it happens again, please grab the autosave from the turn before / start of turn!

I only had 2 sources of coal. And when I tried to spread alum co to other nations, I couldn't find a single nation that I could reach by land that had coal available to them, so I couldn't spread it. That may have had something to do with it.

Honestly i also had some problems understanding the quest :) infact i just won it for pure luck.
I had 2 gold 1 silver and no gems.Suddenly appeared gems and won the quest but i agree the text description is really not clear.
