View Full Version : Problem with Afterworld scenario
tcjsavannah Jul 29, 2007, 07:26 PM I'm on the second mission with the Deception Beacon, but nothing is happening once I place my character that is carrying the beacon on the right space - and when I click the beacon icon, nothing happens.
I've advanced 20 turns, and there's no attacks and nothing going on.
Help?

I think it's buggy. Sever never got to use his death attack because it just didn't register that I gave him that promo. Lots of bugs.

Ok, not the response I was hoping for, but at least I'm not the only one experiencing problems. A shame, too, I was really enjoying the scenario up to that point. First time since playing the original X-Com that I've enjoyed a tactical game like this.

BTW, death attack only works when in Silent Walking mode.

Oh okay I did not know that; I gave up trying to get it to work and thought it was a bug.

Well, I'd certainly like to know how he's supposed to activate both of those beacons. I've been goining back and forth for a while now and it makes no sense to me.

To clarify my first reply - I couldn't see the third beacon because unless I saved and reloaded, the "globe" shark to about the middle third of the map. I finally got Sever to the third beacon, and he's disappeared, but I have no freaking clue what to do now. Help would be appreciated. At this point the game is just frustrating and pointless due to bugs.

My battle animation stays on. I turn on quick combat (offense & defence) but the very next turn they turn themselves back on again! Any fix to this?

At this point the game is just frustrating and pointless due to bugs.Doing Severs quest should open some of the doors so you can continue east. In my game, the three globes were on the south half of the map, and there were several rooms on the north side filled with nasties that you had to proceed through to get back to the ship before the planet is blown up. Or at least that's what the storyline told me, at the moment I'm stuck at what I think is almost the final boss (because its rather different from the other baddies) because the map wont scroll past (second time that has happened to me).
And yeah, it is quite a buggy scenario, but considering its one of a dozen, in a second expansion pack, for a game that wasn't supposed to be played like this, its not too bad. Does feel like more of a tech-demo than a real game to me though.
Diemex Aug 04, 2007, 04:58 AM I noticed that the terminal thingy that sever had to sit on for 5 turns didnt register if he was invisible.
