Polls posted by officials are considered binding unless they are specifically noted to be informational only in the Title and Body of the poll.
When a discussion thread has led to a poll, the poll should reference back (hyperlink) to the discussion.
The closing date of the poll should be noted in the poll post.

These procedures were discussed and developed here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=296322#post296322).

This poll will run for 48 hours, ending 16:50 GMT on Thursday, May 30.

I voted yes to this, as I think this is a step in the right direction. However I do feel that there should be a stricter set of standards laid out for those polls considered to be binding.

Once again, I voted no. I do not think we should be distinguishing between binding and non-binding polls.

We would be much better off formulating standards for poll questions, length of polls, etc.

This rule set would make the default "binding". This is basically for clarity and to prevent confusion.

This is just the first baby step to formulate poll standards. Please contribute to this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22586) with any ideas on poll standards.
