We are in position, or soon will be, to build or pre-build Newton's University, Shakepeare's Theatre and Smith's Trading Company. Due to competition from other countries we may be able to build only two of these wonders. Which two should we concentrate on?

Shakespeare and Smith's both have huge effects. Newton's is very nice but only affects the base science output of the city. Not quite as special as most people think.

I voted for Newtons and Smiths.
We seem to be dragging in Science so any help would be good. And with Smith's we can afford more culture buildings or science/culture buildings.
Shake's effects one city and yes the culture is high, but the savings from Smiths should allow more (number wise) culture producing buildings to compensate.

8 culture for Shakespeare's should not be overlooked by a nation going for culture. If we build 1 wonder, that should be it. Do we wish another nation to have this?

In the same turn we build Smiths we coudl save about 50 gold per turn (Seems to be the average from what people say).
We can afford about (assuming 2 gold per turn) 25 temples. (Maintenance free)
25 * 1 (culture per turn) = 25 culture per turn.
I wouldn't say no to ever building Shake's. I'd just say make the other two a priority and then Shake's with a third place city.
Letting another nation have this will not make that much difference in the overall scheme of things as long as it is not one of the higher cultured civs. If they build it, which they are more likely to do than say the Romans, it will admitedly be a little tougher but not insurmountable. IMHO Smiths is a better "culture" wonder than Shake's (in a large empire) because you can afford more maintence of cultured buildings.
