View Full Version : Special Events Gone Missing
beeblebroxe Aug 03, 2007, 11:46 PM Hi, love the new scenario. Got my ass handed to me the first time. On subsequent tries however the special events, e.g. ogre approaches your city: kill it of tend to it's wounds, have not appeared. Any idea why this might be. I thought they added a lot of flavor to the game. I have already tried removing the program (BtS) and reinstalling but that didn't seem to work. Thanks.
Ploeperpengel Aug 04, 2007, 12:00 AM Those events are random they won't occur in every game.
beeblebroxe Aug 04, 2007, 09:33 AM Right, well I didn't mean that specific event. The first game I played, around eight different events popped up before Ice Age Year 566. And in the others games I got to year 400 without any. I suppose that could still just be the randomness but it did seem a little odd.
CloudedSun Aug 04, 2007, 08:18 PM Wow. I didn't know there were random events for AoI. I've never received one while I've played it.
Rex rgis of Ter Aug 22, 2007, 03:15 PM I got the event about the disciple of mulcarn coming to the city. you can kill him, send him away, or convert. I converted and lost the game..... It didn't say in the mouseover you would lose if you converted.
vorshlumpf Aug 22, 2007, 11:06 PM Actually, you lose the city. If it's your only one, then you lose the game.
I think it would be silly for it to tell you this in the mouse-over.
evanb Aug 23, 2007, 02:38 AM Yeah, it would be a bit silly. You gotta role-play. You're fighting the god of winter and he's trying to convert you -- what do you do, let him? :)
Rex rgis of Ter Aug 23, 2007, 07:48 AM I do like the Illians........
I was roleplaying. He was almost dead and I was being a good, compassionate leader.
JameyM Aug 30, 2007, 04:03 PM What would I need to do to change the rate for random events? I've played (and enjoyed) the scenario all the way through twice, but I've only seen one random event. :(
Gooblah Mar 24, 2008, 03:57 PM Probably in the Python/XML files. Sift through 'em..
xienwolf Mar 24, 2008, 04:18 PM It is set through a file which FfH doesn't modify yet. The easy solution would be to download Modular FfH and just delete all the modules except for the one which lets you customize your event frequency. By default it is set to make events twice as likely as standard.
