New computer (still using XP), monitor 1680x1050. I installed CivIII and changed ini file to KeepRes=1. Played game, everything fine: full screen. Installed Conquests, changed ini file to KeepRes=1. Fire up Conquests, I have full screen, but everything is super tiny. The menus are fine, but the characters and everything on the map is 1/4 size.

That will keep it from automatically going to 1024X768?

Yes, keepres=1 will force Civ to play in your desktop resolution (assuming this is higher than 1024x768).
