Ok, so it's about time I got around to posting this.
Some of you might remember my old sea cities mod, and the Atlantis scenario I'm still working on.
Rather than pick my brains for these two requests, here's a few for you.
First up, Atlantean city names. I've not had much luck coming up with some, but maybe you can lend a hand?
Second - and don't ask me what they should look like - would anyone consider making unit graphics for a sea city builder and ocean terraformer? Somehow, I think it might be better if they had their own graphics, rather than using the transport ones like I am now.

And the preview to be...
well, just as soon as I have something from the Atlantis scenario that works (for once) I'll post if here - and keep you posted, as it were.

Thanks for posting that... I've long since given up playing civ2... and probalby would never have thought of it...
Saves me having to use the names of the Japanese - who they're replacing at the moment.

Lots and lots of Persian cities in this list... what's the connection between Persia and Atlantis??

Hmm..... maybe none.... except Persia might be conspicuosly absent from the final mod... in favour of Atlantis.
Never liked Xerxes much anyway.

Here you must ask the creator of that standard civ 2scenario. My speculation about it is, that he did the same with Persian cities, as Derf wanted to do with Japanese cities. ;) But it seems Persia is nearer to the most estimated location of Atlantis as Japan.

For settler /worker you migt use the workbee. It's quite futuristic but as waterunit it should work well. I don't know who made it but I think it's originally from civ-ctp as spacesettler. THe c3c Version is anyways included in the Balancer mod.

Some 'plausible' city names

Mimas
Pheros
Phobos
Titan
Rhea
Iapetus
Dione
Tethys
Abythia
Epimethius
Callisto
Adrastea
Amalthea
Metis
Leda
Himalia
Lysithea
Elara
Pasiphae
Sinope
Oberon
Ariel
Umbriel
Miranda
Phobos
Deimos

these are actually names of actual moons so have no real connection with Atlantis except they sound nice.

^ And these moon names have Greek origin so they could fit well for Atlantis... :)

Japan isn't closer... it just happened to be the civ I decided to use.
But I'm not going to lose any sleep out of 'forgetting' Xerxes in place of them... the ai for him has a few bad habits - like piling a fer thousand warriors onto a city filled with tanks - and often winning.

And I'll add those city names to the list... I think I'll pick out some of the more atlantean ones and mix em all together.

Thanks for all this.... I might be slow at getting a mod done, but we'll get it there soon.

Ok, here's another problem for you.
I've taken a look about for leader titles, and none of them seem to fit the Atlanteans. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm a little stuck on who to use as their leader. There doesn't seem to be any 'great hero' or anything that I can use... similar for the GL and SGL

I have the atlanteans in my mod too, and I was using an elf citylist from the warhammer modpack, the moon list sounds very cool, im going to use that instead, if anyone wants to add more moons to that list go ahead ;) im thinking about some more greek gods

Yes, the moon-names sound better than the Persian names.

I'm adding them to the now-growing list of city names
I think I mentioned this, but in case I didn't, I'm going to take out the more atlantean ones and put them in one large list.
Does anyone happen to know of any leaders and titles that I can use? My own searches aren't turning up anything I can use.

Wikipedia!!

Fifty stadia inland from the coast was a "mountain not very high on any side." Here lived a native woman with whom Poseidon fell in love and who bore him five pairs of male twins. The eldest of these, Atlas, was made rightful king of the entire island and the ocean (called the Atlantic Ocean in honor of Atlas), and was given the mountain of his birth and the surrounding area as his fiefdom. Atlas's twin Gadeirus or Eumelus in Greek, was given the extremity of the island towards the Pillars of Heracles. The other four pairs of twins — Ampheres and Evaemon, Mneseus and Autochthon, Elasippus and Mestor, and Azaes and Diaprepes — were also given "rule over many men, and a large territory."

...now why didn't I think of that...
Now all I need it a leaderhead and a title for them...

Isnt that single era? Im using R8XF's Pompey.

In the thread there are pictures for 4 eras: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=760344&postcount=122 . But for Atlantis may be one era would be enough, as Atlantis doesn´t fit to normal eras.

The posts in the Atlas-Leaderhead-thread and the link to RagnarD's mod that includes a Civ 3 Atlantis-civ should be a must for a creator, who reworks this stuff. ;)
